Please bare in mind that I am reviewing all 3 films in the trilogy in the specific criteria section.
FINAL DESTINATION: The first and easily the best in the trilogy begins with a group of teenagers aged 17/18 getting ready for a spring break trip to France. Once at the airport, one of the main characters Alex has a premonition that the flight he is on will crash and him and his friends will die. So moments before take off he tells everyone to get off the plane because it is going to crash. Seven people get off the plane, Alex, one of his teachers and five other students. Moments later in the departure lounge the students see the plane explode moments after take off right before their very eyes. Now the FBI thinks Alex had something to do with the explosion and follow his every move. Worse for Alex though his friends also become suspicious and slowly fade out of his life. The film then moves
on to about a month after and strange things begin to happen as Death who is intent on killing all the people that cheated it because of Alex's premonition begins stalking and killing all that escaped it the first time. Can anyone cheat death again?
I really enjoyed Final Destination I found it an orignal concept and a well thought out script and the way Death is going to kill its next victim is always intriguing. It is well worth a watch and I would recommend it.
Final Destination also contains the following Bonus Features on the DVD:
Director's Commentary Featurette on Premonitions Cast & Crew Biographies Deleted Scenes Interviews 2 Games - "Death Clock" and "Psychic Test"
The games are a little tacky but its all good fun :)
FINAL DESTINATION 2: The sequel for me was a real let down and for me the worst in the trilogy. The film again begins with a premonition, this time of a huge road accident and once again the premonition comes true and death once again begins killing all the people who survived that shouldn't have. This time though the survivors from the road accident have the only remaining survivor from the first film Clear Rivers here to help. Clear who has been locked away in a mental asylum voluntarily and still hiding from death helps the survivors from this tragic accident try and avoid death, but will they be able to find a way to stop Death killing them?
I really didn't enjoy this film and the death scenes really did seem far to complicated and far fetched and the script wasn't as good as the first film.
Although this DVD had heaps of bonus features including: All Access Pass Filmmaker's Commentary Bringing Death to Life Documentary Deleted and Alternate Scenes Music Videos Trailers Beyond The Movie: Terror Gauge Cheating Death: Beyond and Back Documentary Choose Your Fate Fact Track
FINAL DESTINATION 3: To me this is just the first film again with a different setting and a different group of people and better special effects. After Wendy and her friends survive a deadly roller coaster ride, Death once again goes after the people who shouldn't have survived and begins killing them in ever more gruesome ways and once again most of the survivors don't think Death is coming for them until its to late. Can anyone survive in this final installment? I just about did :)
I found the final movie in the trilogy slightly better than number 2 but I think it was to much along the same lines as the first movie and all the efforts went on making the death scenes more spectacluar, which I guess is to be expected. I kind of got the ive seen this before feeling and knew what was going to happen which made it dull.
Once again though there are tons of bonus features: The Making of Final Destination 3 A in-depth look at subgenre horror films Its all around you - An orignal animated short Feature length audio commentary Trailers Television Spots
So to sum up I wouldn't recommend buying the Final Destination Box Set as you will probably be better of watching just the first in the trilogy as you won't be missing out if you don't wath the next two. That said the first film is really good and definately worth a watch.
I believe the box set is available for around £13.99 currently which for a box set is cheap.

This is a good review, but I must say that I disagree with you completely! All the films have the same concept, but each one has its own unique twist which I love... but then again I am a huge FD fan.
