All three of the Final Destination Trilogy all in one place! The box is nothing to write home about, but it looks great in your collection having all the titles together in a box.
The Final Destination films are some of my favourite films of all time. I am not a horror fan, I like a good thriller that makes you think, but I'm also a teenager so I like to really enjoy a movie if I'm paying an hour's wage to see it at the cinema. Final Destination seems to tick all the boxes that I want in a good teen thriller. Just the right amount of blood and guts, a concept of "death" to think about and it's not too predictable.
FINAL DESTINATION The first in the triology, this film follows Alex. Before taking off in a plane headed for France with his school, he experiences a premonition that the plane will blow up, killing him and his classmates. Subsequently he gets off the planbe, taking some of his class mates and his teacher with him. The plane explodes just as he foresses and thus cheats death. One by one his class mates die and from then on, Alex believes that death is after them.....
This film has great special effects for saying that it was done in 1999. Overall the storyline is great, and quite belivable, even though the deaths themselves aren't (you'll be looking for signs of death everywhere afterwards!).
DVD extras are a bit basic - alternative ending etc plus a 'death clock' and a game where you can see if you are physic. However the making of the film and the alternate ending bits are very interesting. If you're like me and only buy a film for a film then you won't be too bothered about the lack of crazy stuff on there.
FINAL DESTINATION 2 The second film in The Final Destination Series, it does not solely involves teenagers like the first. In this film, we follow Kimberly who is on a trip at the end of college with her friends. She predicts that there will be a pile up on the highway, so stops her car and prevents people from entering on the slip road by doing so. After her friends die in the accident she does some research on preminitions and calls everyone who escaped death to a meeting to explain what happened to Alex. Sure enough, people start dying as death catches up with them - however this film gives a neat little twist and something more to think about than the second film. Death is closing its web more than they imagined - the people who survived the crash also survived other incidence that the surviors of the plane crash prevented from happening....
Many people say that this film is the weakest of the three but in my opinion I don't see why it's any worse than the other two. As I said before, I like the fact that it is that little bit different from the first while retaining the same theme.
Again with the DVD extras you just get the basic stuff - movie trailers, extended scenes, deleted scenes etc. Again the 'making of' feature is very interesting, plus the commentry is very good as it points out little hidden things in the film that refer to the first one and things. There are also two music videos to watch too.
FINAL DESTINATION 3 This film is slightly different from the others. It involves a preminition on a rollercoaster, which comes true; much like the other films. However, the photographs that Wendy took at the fair give clues as to how people will die when death catches up with them. Although there are the clues with the photos, it is still unpredictable and will make you jump when you least expect it.
This is my favourite film of the three. It has some amazing death scenes (if you're into that kind of thing) and has a bit of humour in there which is always a plus. As I said before it still makes you jump and will make you a bit scared, which is what you expect from a teen thriller - so it ticks all the boxes. The special effects are very good, but then again it was done in 2006, a full 7 years after the first.
This DVD has a fantastic bonus feature called "choose their fate". You watch the film again, except at certain points it gives you two decisions - to do what the character did in the film or to do something else. This way you get to see different death scenes and to save different characters. You can have a lot of fun with this as there are so many different ways you can change your film. Other extras include a 'making of' which is 90 mitues long and very interesting again! There are also two featurettes - a cartoon showing the probability of death and 'Dead Teenager Movie' which is what it says on the tin. There are also the obligitary deleted scenes, commentary etc. It's packed full!
I think all of the films in the "thrill-ogy" are fantastc but my favourite is probably the third. However, 1 and 2 come a very close second.
Three brilliant films all in one box - what more can you ask for?
Advantages: Originally a great concept for a film Disadvantages: If you have seen the first film the next two in the trilogy will disappoint
...the specific criteria section.
FINAL DESTINATION:
The first and easily the best in the trilogy begins with a group of teenagers aged 17/18 getting ready for a spring break trip to France. Once at the airport, one of the main characters Alex has a premonition that the flight he is on will crash and him and his friends will die. So moments before take off he tells everyone to get off the plane because it is going to crash. Seven people get off the ... ...again?
I really enjoyed Final Destination I found it an orignal concept and a well thought out script and the way Death is going to kill its next victim is always intriguing. It is well worth a watch and I would recommend it.
Final Destination also contains the following Bonus Features on the DVD:
Director's Commentary
Featurette on Premonitions
Cast & Crew
Biographies
Deleted Scenes
Interviews
2 Games - "Death Clock" and "Psychic Test"

Advantages: Great price, Great films Disadvantages: None
...i think that the 3 final destination films is the funniest collection which is supposedly horror. And for once the producers are not asking for an astronomical price just because it is a box set, in fact the price of the box set is just a few more pounds than the third film alone.
The first of the films is probably the best because the storyline was new and had never been done before. It starts with a group of students about to fly out on a school ... ...is going to explode, so the group get off the plane and end up watching it fly off and guess what... it explodes. This leads to members of the group dying is somewhat strange circumstances, in one case dying because he sliped in the shower and then managed to end up with a wire wrapped round his neck, and iknock shampoo into the bath in his struggle which meant he could not grip onto the floor to take the strain off his neck so therefore died. I ...

Advantages: some good scenes Disadvantages: not much horror like it says, not better than the third film
...it was because after watching Final Destination 3 I thought that the first and the second one must have been interesting. I am currently watching the second film of the sequel but this first film is quite boring. Nor did I have the same excitement or the tension as the third movie and I was a bit disappointed because I was looking forward for the first sequel but nonetheless, I didn't hate it. There were a few moments when some tension was building ...

Advantages: Not as expensive as first thought Disadvantages: hardly scary
when i went to buy this as a slight treat for myslef i was shocked at the price, only £20 including all three, i briught it sriaght away. The script i belive is very well thought of and each film is based on the first edition. Without a doubt you have to watch the them in order otherwise the story line is weak. I belive the second dvd to be the weak links as u can actually see "death" which is slightly corny but nevertheless still a gr8m movie. I ... ...money. The last scene on the recent movie is pretty funny as i dont belive it is meant to be, but if u are wanting a good cheap nite in then this is brilliant. the certificate is 15 but is easy enough to follow. If you are wanting a fright then this would not be your film but still makes you jump on occasions. The storyline can be guessed youll be surprised that it isnt wot u would first think. Definatly worth a buy. ...
