Fimbles - Fimbly Bimbly - Finding is Fun.

These are more characters created by the BBC. Fimbles are 3 Giant stripy creatures who live in fimble valley with all their friends. It's an amazing place, where flowers talk and giggle and the whole forest is alive. There are 7 main characters in the fimbles:

• Fimbo - he is the tallest fimble in fimble valley. He is green and yellow stripes. He loves crumble crackers (look like oat cakes) and his shimmy shaker (which looks like a giant pine cone that shakes). His best friend is Rockit the bouncing frog (get to him in a minute).

• Florrie - she is the middle fimble in fimble valley. She is Blue and purple stripes. She has a little cuddly fimble called Little One, who is yellow and red; she goes every where with Florrie. Florrie looks after baby Pom. Florrie loves drawing.

• Pom - she is the smallest fimble in fimble valley. She is green and pink. She has a trundle truck (like a small wheel barrow) and she has a small bag which she carries from time to time. She talks like a small child in broken sentences, and doesn't always understand what's happening. She always looks to Florrie for help.

• Bessie - she is a bird who lives in fimble valley, she is like the mother of the forest. She helps explain what the items are that the fimbles find and give them help and advice- Bessie is pink/variety of colours.

• Ribble - this is her little chick, he is bright orange and is often playing with Pom. Ribble doesn't really talk just makes noises but everyone understands what he is saying.

• Rockit - he is the bouncing, jumping frog who lives in a tree in fimble valley. He is good friends with the fimbles, joins in their games and adventures but his best friend is Fimbo. Rockit is the all dancing and singing frog too, he is a very funny character.

• Roly Mo - He is the story telling mole- he is dark green and dark purple. He is like the daddy of the forest. When the fimbles find things in the forest they go to show Roly mo, who then reads them a story which is related to the item in which they have found. Roly mo has his own story time song when he looks for a book, which kids love singing and dancing along to.

They all live together in fimble valley where they sing and dance together and have great adventures together, some of the things on the fimbles can be educational, but I find that this is the least educational out of all the Cbeebies collection. Don't get me wrong the bright colours and bright music is great for the little ones, but as you will see in the following review of this DVD, the episodes are made up of nothing and the singing and dancing, plus the story from Roly mo makes up the whole show.

The DVD is approx 60 mins long, which is relatively short DVD. Each episode last for 20 mins.

The Menu consists of:

• Play all
• Episodes ( from here you can also choose scene by scene )
• Extras
• Subtitles.

The Extras are:

• Extra episode- Bubble. Where a Fimbo finds a bubble and shows all his friends of the forest the bubble and they sing and dance and show the bubble all around the forest, and eventually, they showed the bubble the bubble fountain where the bubble then disappeared.

• Sing a long - 30 sec song by Rockit called ' Did you ever see a Fimble'

• Game - Find Fimbo in the fimble valley, click on different areas of the valley to see if fimble is hiding.

• More Fun - Advertisement of some of the other Cbeebies characters

• Web Link - www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/fimbles

The DVD consists of 3 episodes:

Red Nose

In this episode (and every episode) one of the fimbles finds something. There is a wee song and the tinkling tree makes a noise and the fimble finds something. In this episode it is Pom. She finds a squeaky red nose, but she is unsure of what it was. As always Bessie appears to tell Pom it is a Red Nose that clowns wear, and Bessie shows them a VT of real kids watching real clowns. The Fimbles get all excited and decide to go and show Roly mo the red nose. Roly mo then asks if they would like a story (they always say yes) followed by roly's wee tune, he reads them a story about clowns. They decide to make bow ties and but on a clown show for Bessie and Ribble in the purple valley.

Hairbrush

This time Florrie finds a Hairbrush. She thinks it is a hedgehog and Pom and she are scared to touch it. Bessie tells them that it is a hairbrush. Fimble appears and Pom calls it a hair hog. They decide to play a trick on Rockit. Fimble hides and makes the hairbrush talk and Rockit is amazed. They take the hair brush to see Roly mo, again get a story this time about a hedgehog. They all discuss hedgehogs and explain how important it is not to disturb hedgehogs and how to help look after them.

Sleeping bag

This time it is Fimbo and Rockit. They find a Sleeping bag. They were unsure of what it was but Bessie tells them what it is and shows a VT of kids using sleeping bags. Fimbo and Rockit go all around fimble valley looking for a comfy place to sleep and on the way show the sleeping bag to everyone. Then after a story from Roly mo they both fall asleep in the sleeping bag.

I have to say I don't find this DVD very exciting, I actually find the fimbles really hard to watch because they just sing and dance and the stories are pointless. Little kids do love it, my son sings and dances to them, but he has to be in the mood for them, it's not his favourite DVD in all honesty.

I think you either love or hate the fimbles you would have to watch them for yourself to make a final decision. My son and I much prefer the Tweenies.

This DVD I paid full price from asda £ 9.77

I don't feel it is worth it, but if your kids love the fimbles then they will really love this DVD because it has all the usual fimble activities and stories.

Hope you like my review.
