Hi, I'm a student living in the East Midlands area. I'm into reading (very) and an avid movie watcher, so much so I'm studying a degree in film. I'm currently writing my own book, so maybe one day it'll be reviewed on here. Be kind, yeah?

This film, quite frankly is one of the best I've ever seen. One of the few that actually improves with repeat viewings. The main plot is that a man with insomnia comes home from a business trip one day and finds his apartment has been blown up. He moves in with the enigmatic Tyler Durdon and they together start a fight club. Things start to spin out of the narrator's control and soon the fight club has turned into an anti-consumerist terrorist group. The end of the film has a fantastic twist that I really didn't expect at all, and knowing the end means you can watch the film again and have an entirely different viewing experience. The humour of the film is spectacular and moments such as Marla's entrance ('this is cancer, right?', cigarette in hand, at a men's testicular cancer group) really make this film. I also liked the interesting feature that we never know the narrator's name, and that the directors put single frame flickers of Tyler in before he even enters the film. Norton, Pitt and Bonham-Carter all had stellar performances, especially Pitt, who I would say, until The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, never acted so well. Throughly satisfying movie. Criminal to miss it.
