Well with Farscape the storyline is much more loose and consists of lots of adventures fighting evil aliens which eventually all merge into a workable story line. Ok like many I became hooked on Farscape since it first aired on terrestrial television on BBC2. So when the show decided to release the whole series on box set I was over the moon. I got on the phone to all my nerdy friends to spread the news when I realised the price of said box sets. £70! So what sets Farscape apart from other sci-fi shows like Stargate SG1 and enterprise? Well with shows such as the Star Trek series the storyline is that the crew, and the ship, are trying to get home, battle a few menacing aliens along the way and ultimately do find themselves back home in the final episode. Pretty boring eh? Well with Farscape the storyline is much more loose and consists of lots of adventures fighting evil aliens which eventually all merge into a workable story line. Your probably thinking that story sounds a bit rubbish and it does sound pretty pathetic but in the series it's so well implemented it's unbelievable how well the show pans out.
Are there any famous actors/actresses that I might know of in Farscape? Just for you guys, here's a list of the main actors/actresses and the parts they play: Ben Browder - The legendary John Crichton Claudia Black - Aeryn Sun Anthony Simcoe - Ka D'argo Gigi Edgley - Chiana Raelee Hill - Sikozu Wayne Pygram - Scorpius
Ooooo I love Farscape are any of my favourite episodes on this box set? Once again I've compiled a list to answer your questions. Here are the episodes on the series 4 box set: Crichton Kicks / What Was Lost part 1: Sacrifice / What Was Lost part 2: Resurrection Lava's a Many Splendoured Thing / Promises Natural Election / John Quixote / I Shrink Therefore I Am A Prefect Murder / Coup By Clam Unrealized Reality / Kansas Terra Firma / Twice Shy Mental as Anything / Bringing Home the Beacon A Constellation of Doubt / Prayer We're So Screwed part 1: Fatal Attraction / We're So Screwed part 2: Hot to Katratzi We're So Screwed part 3: La Bomba / Bad Timing
Yes but what do you think of this box set? Although this set contains undoubtedly the shows finest episode (the one were john returns to earth) this set is not as good as many of the others. The fourth season is a let down compared to the spectacular third season. Pressure from the sci-fi channel and the writers results in many unconnected episodes. This series could have been so much better than it actually was.
What kind of aliens do the Farscape crew encounter in series 4? Well the main baddies are Scorpius, who looks kind of like a bondage darth vader, the scarrens, big lizards that walk upright and destroy everything in their path and of course the peacekeepers which, contrary to the name, tend to create lots of hostility wherever they go.
You mentioned some special features on the box set, what are they? Actually I expected much better for such an expensive product. It has the usual interviews with the cast, a nice little terminology (to understand what there on about) and some background information on all the characters. I nearly forgot there's an utterly pointless video game whereby you have to run away from a large dog.
Is this DVD widescreen? /What is the video quality like? Yes the set is widescreen and the graphics quality is amazing. All episodes are mastered for sharp focus and bright colours making Farscape as a whole a treat to the eyes.
So to recap my view is that if you're a die hard fan then by all means buy it but at this price tag? I don't think so. If you're not a fan and you want to get into the series start from season 1 is all I can say.

DVD Description
One of the Sci Fi Channel's most popular series, FARSCAPE is the story of a band of misfit renegades on the run from military Peacekeepers. The hero of the series is the human John Crichton (Ben Browder), a young astronaut and astrophysicist who becomes stranded on the other side of the universe when his Farscape module goes through a wormhole. There, the sentient ship Moya takes him in, where he finds himself in the midst of a battle between the militaristic 'Peacekeepers' and a small band of prisoners who are escaping their grasp. He chooses to team up with the escapees: a Luxan warrior (Anthony Simcoe); a deposed Hynerian ruler who strongly resembles a frog (voiced by Jonathan Hardy); a shunned Peacekeeper pilot (Claudia Black), and others whom they pick up along the way - as they run from the Peacekeepers, explore space, and try to find Crichton a way back to Earth. This collection includes every episode from the fourth series.
