super-heroic scores for movies such as Superman Returns, X2: X-Men United and two Fantastic Four installments, including this one. Being a sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer reintroduces some themes from its predecessor (as on "Botched Heroics"). The main new development, of course, is associated with the titular hero, and it starts off the CD. Appropriately, considering Silver Surfer's conflicted nature, a moody undercurrent courses through the track, even when it finally gets to soar. New villain Galactus is a big ol' cosmic cloud of evil; appropriately again, his theme ("Galactus Destroys/Opening") is distinguished by a certain synthetic, low-end fuzziness. Overall, the CD is relatively low key for a big summer action movie. The suspense/action cues don't pummel your eardrums; a track like "Sibling Switch" brings to mind the classicism of Bernard Herrman circa Psycho, while the use of the choir of "Four in One" isn't that different from what you could hear in 1960s sword-and-sandals epics. This relative restraint may frustrate those who enjoy contemporary bombast, but it will be a pleasant surprise for fans of a more restrained approach. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

This movie has received double-edged feedback, going from the very good to the very bad. In the midst of planning their wedding, Reed and Sue, who are also having a few pre-marital jitters, are forced to deal with the arrival of the Silver Surfer, a super-powered being whose task it is to prepare the planet for the arrival of its master---a being so evil and powerful that it literally sucks the life out of planets.
I am definitely not going to knock this movie, simply because, even though it is a sequel of a sequel, it is good in its own right---unlike the latest Spiderman and Superman movies---but I won't go there.

The storyline is very good, the dialogue clever and humorous, and with the arrival of the Silver Surfer, a potential anti-hero, the Fantastic Four go from superhero comic book characters to Indiana Jones apprentices! The Rise Of The Silver Surfer was nominated for 9 awards (MTV and Teen Choice), and although it didn't win any, the point is that it was still nominated---that's 2 more nominations than Spiderman got!

Advantages: good story, great acting and effects Disadvantages: None from my house
the arrival of the SilverSurfer as he is trying to make a crater right in the middle of the city where they are getting marred.
The FantasticFour are then required to help stop this surfer but things take a drastic turn when Johnny follows the SilverSurfer and after touching him his powers start to fail and if any of the other guys touch him they swap powers! Thing loves this and keeps touching him!
They go to where they predict the next crater will be made along with the military and try to capture the SilverSurfer but when they arrive they find that Dr Doom is also there, he claims that he has lost his powers after being struck by the SilverSurfer but is he being completely honest?
Will they be able to stop the SilverSurfer and will they find out what his aim is? Will Dr Doom stay good or is his overall plan evil?

Advantages: Brilliant Special Effects Disadvantages: None
I am writing a review on the brilliant film The FantasticFour ? Rise of the SilverSurfer.
I went to the cinema last night ? 28 June to see this film because I saw the first one and I loved it so I had to go and see the sequel.
The Story Itself
FantasticFour have returned with a lot more trouble ? Reed & Sue (Mr Fantastic & Invisible Woman) are to be wed. But as superheroes, having a normal wedding wouldn?t be possible? Because at the same time of their wedding ? The Earth is encountering unexplained happenings ? Everything is turning to ice, and all planets after turn into rubble ? Destroyed. So? the wedding is ruined by an uninvited guest by an old enemy.
So the FantasticFour get together with the police to find out what is going on. All they know is that it?s a silver man on a surf board.
To the heroes? dismay ...
Advantages: steady well-paced action, plenty of visual treats and amusing moments Disadvantages: not as deep, or with enough character development as some would like
was actually quite surprised that there weren't more leftover bits. An alternate opening, some amusing scenes of Torch and Thing trying to get the wedding off the ground, and an interesting look at how the 4 fund themselves now.
Johnny was the marketer of the FantasticFour as shown even in the first film with his proto-type action figures and insistence on a logo. Here we see the wealth of Fantastic merchandise that greases the groups wheels and pays their bills. This type of blatant commercialism that is consistently pushed upon audiences in real life to an appalling and sickening extent was likely too off-putting to include in the film. It is an eerie reminder to audiences though.

DVD Description
The sequel to the 2005 blockbuster FANTASTIC FOUR, RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER finds the Marvel superhero quartet of Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd), Sue Storm (Jessica Alba), Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), and Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis) facing an extraterrestrial threat in the form of the title character (played by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne), an enigmatic being whose presence on Earth could signal the planet's end. Amidst the ensuing action, Reed and Sue attempt to tie the knot, and an old foe (Dr. Doom, portrayed by Julian McMahon) waits in the wings, allowing for plenty of levity and drama. This FANTASTIC FOUR outing, once again directed by Tim Story, gets much of its verve from the Silver Surfer himself. Played by Jones, an actor best known for his dual roles in PAN'S LABYRINTH, the Surfer is more than just CGI sheen, with subtle movements that seem truly alien and a voice of supreme gravitas, courtesy of Fishburne. Reed and Sue deal with wedding woes, while the fiery Johnny (aka The Human Torch) and a rock-solid Ben (The Thing) provide an extra dose of humour in a power-switching plot, making the film much lighter than other Marvel offerings.
