super-heroic scores for movies such as Superman Returns, X2: X-Men United and two Fantastic Four installments, including this one. Being a sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer reintroduces some themes from its predecessor (as on "Botched Heroics"). The main new development, of course, is associated with the titular hero, and it starts off the CD. Appropriately, considering Silver Surfer's conflicted nature, a moody undercurrent courses through the track, even when it finally gets to soar. New villain Galactus is a big ol' cosmic cloud of evil; appropriately again, his theme ("Galactus Destroys/Opening") is distinguished by a certain synthetic, low-end fuzziness. Overall, the CD is relatively low key for a big summer action movie. The suspense/action cues don't pummel your eardrums; a track like "Sibling Switch" brings to mind the classicism of Bernard Herrman circa Psycho, while the use of the choir of "Four in One" isn't that different from what you could hear in 1960s sword-and-sandals epics. This relative restraint may frustrate those who enjoy contemporary bombast, but it will be a pleasant surprise for fans of a more restrained approach. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

The Cast
The Fantastic four are the original cast from the first film.
Reed is Mr Fantastic played by Ioan Grufford Power: He can stretch his body as if it was elastic and to any extent.
Sue is Invisible Woman played by Jessica Alba. Power: She can turn invisible and have some mental power.
Johnny is the Human Torch played by Chris Evans Power: He can set him self on fire and fly through the air.
Ben plays the Thing played by Michael Chiklis. Power: Super human strength and looks like a giant rock…
Actors
Jessica Alba played Sue, Sue is the girl who wants a normal life and settles down and have children with her fiancé Reed. The 2 are to be wed but as there so busy being super heroes; she thinks she’ll never get married. She plays her character brilliant, She makes you feel for her, her facial expressions really tell how she feels, a heart broken woman who is un happy with her chosen profession. You just have to love her in this film, she is excellent. She is a brilliant actress.
Ioan Grufford played Reed, He is the geek of the group, loves science and completely different from the rest of the group. And Ioan plays the geek brilliant; you can actually feel bad for him, kind of being the boring odd one out. I really liked him as an actor.
Chris Evans is Johnny, He plays the human torch and I just love him, he’s so funny. His character is great and witty and funny. He flies through the air in fire, as well as being a cool dude who is woman mad. He’s class.
Michael Chiklis plays the Rock Man – He’s hilarious, he really made me laugh in some of the scenes he does. Because he’s so odd looking and he tries to be normal which just is funny. His character also has such a great sense of humour – brilliant. You will love him.
Director
Tim Story is the director of this brilliant film, he done a fantastic job in my opinion, I thought the screen writing and directing was just fantastic. Its one film that I can say wow that’s incredible. Maybe people think am over exaggerating but I loved it.
Special Effects The special effects in this film were unreal, the silver surfer was brilliant looking, so realistic and how they done it was breath taking. The human torch was just class looking – its so realistic looking as well – it really looks likes on fire and flying around the city.
Because they all have special powers the special effects have to be put in place to ensure it looks real, and it worked so well, stretch was so funny looking, he could bend his body in all directions. They were so brilliant.
My Personal opinion
I absolutely loved this film, thought it was brilliant – very realistic even thought its super heroes. I think children will love it and want to be them fantastic four. Special effects were unbelievable – just the best. I would rate this film 5***** defiantly one to watch with the family.

Review of Fantastic Four - The Rise Of The Silver Surfer (DVD)
Advantages: steady well-paced action, plenty of visual treats and amusing moments Disadvantages: not as deep, or with enough character development as some would like
This sequel to the first Fantastic Four film has not been met with great enthusiasm, which puzzles me. Here, a silver humanoid figure on what appears to be a surfboard begins appearing all over the world and wreaking havoc. When the Silver Surfer interrupts Reed and Sue's most recent attempt to complete a wedding ceremony, Johnny aka Human Torch flies off in hot pursuit. Coming in contact with this alien being makes Johnny's powers unstable and exchangeable ... ...on comic book characters. The Fantastic Four comics were the cornerstone of the Marvel company. It was always full of cheesy lines and never really delved deeply into its characters. This was, in fact, part of its appeal. It left angst to Spiderman, and involved plots or deeper characters to comics like X-men.
The Fantastic 4 was about the compromise and sacrifice needed to forge good teamwork, finding empowerment through acceptance of self, adventure, ...

Advantages: Lot's of classic comic plot adaptations / Great effects Disadvantages: doesn't take important issues seriously enough / Some lightweight acting
...more than dissapointed with the Fantastic Four film of 2005, I wasn't expecting much, but had to watch as I am an intimate fan of Silver Surfer comics of the 90's. I owned the entire volume at one point and several classic Fantastic Four comics. I've been around the great storylines of Galactus for many years, and was curious to see how the comicbook translation of him was going to make it to a live action blockbuster.
The plot:
Firstly, the opening ... ...how a film of this type SHOULD start. Bold grandoise music building up a sense of galactic importance with cosmic graphics to make you want to see it in HD. This film wastes no time getting you in the mood, with some cool effects of the Silver Surfer souring accross our planet.
The film places several key comic book plots all together, and doesn't seem hurried for it. While the running time could have been extended to show off more of Doctor Doom ...

Advantages: Lots of Action Disadvantages: Very Original Storyline
Fantastic Four used to be my favourite comic book; But once again the guys at Marvel have created the same storyline yet again. Rise of the Silver Surfer sure is an enjoyable follow-up to the first fantastic four, but instead of offering an different approach Marvel have decided to stick to their guns and produce something pretty much the same as the first film. Once again there is something threatening the world and the only people to save it are ... ...the Silver Surfer finds the fantastic 4 fending off a threat to our planet. Advantages: Well acted, nice storyline, Stuck to original story line quite well Disadvantages: A little predictable, Silver Surfer could have had more screen time
The second installment of the Fantastic Four films, This one continues with the where the first one left off. The four of the superhero's are now famous for their abilities that they gained through a freak accident on a space station in the first film.
The four superheroes :-
Mr Fantastic - This guy has the ability to stretch himself like elastic (Just think of the old Stretch Armstrong toy, Anyone else remember him???)
The Invisible Girl - Soeaks ... ...with a question for mr Fantastic about the strange annomalies and so the story starts . . . . For anyone who remembers the Silver Surfer from the old cartoons etc then the story follows pretty much how you may well remember it, It sticks pretty close to how I remember the Silver Surfer coming about which is a good thing in my eyes as I don't like when the films deviate too much. Also there is a very brief appearance by Stan Lee, the creator of the ...

Advantages: Family-friendly, entertaining Disadvantages: Pretty silly and not particularly spectacular
FantasticFour: Rise of the SilverSurfer wasn't a film I particularly wished to rush out and see. But, in the absence of anything better on at the Odeon, I decided to give it a go. I hadn't seen the first one, I had no particular wish to see the first one, and now after seeing this, I still have no particular wish to see the first one.
Presumably carrying on from the end of the first one, Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd) is getting married to Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba). Her brother, Johnny Storm/The Human Torch (Chris Evans, no, not THAT Chris Evans) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Michael Chiklis) complete the super-powered team. If you want the back story, you'll have to check out the first one.
Sadly for the happy couple, a mystical entity called the SilverSurfer (voiced by Laurence Fishbourne) has ...
Advantages: It's a big step up from the first movie and is lots of fun. Disadvantages: It's still not great compared to other superhero movies.
?s original score feels too big for its boots, using epic-sounding orchestral arrangements constantly throughout the film. The events in the movie really aren?t deserving of booming brass and soaring choirs, so it feels over-the-top. The Surfer may be heralding the end of the world, but we don?t need so many loud brass motifs or threatening strings every time he turns up. Nor do we require booming brass or huge choruses to know Von Doom is bad news. The tense string arrangements would be effective if they weren?t so prevalent ? after a while you learn to filter them out. Overall the music is too big for the film, so doesn?t quite gel.
?FantasticFour: Rise of the SilverSurfer? is a great superhero movie for kids. But if you watch it expecting to see superheroes torn apart by their responsibilities and tortured pasts, you?re going to be ...

DVD Description
The sequel to the 2005 blockbuster FANTASTIC FOUR, RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER finds the Marvel superhero quartet of Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd), Sue Storm (Jessica Alba), Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), and Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis) facing an extraterrestrial threat in the form of the title character (played by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne), an enigmatic being whose presence on Earth could signal the planet's end. Amidst the ensuing action, Reed and Sue attempt to tie the knot, and an old foe (Dr. Doom, portrayed by Julian McMahon) waits in the wings, allowing for plenty of levity and drama. This FANTASTIC FOUR outing, once again directed by Tim Story, gets much of its verve from the Silver Surfer himself. Played by Jones, an actor best known for his dual roles in PAN'S LABYRINTH, the Surfer is more than just CGI sheen, with subtle movements that seem truly alien and a voice of supreme gravitas, courtesy of Fishburne. Reed and Sue deal with wedding woes, while the fiery Johnny (aka The Human Torch) and a rock-solid Ben (The Thing) provide an extra dose of humour in a power-switching plot, making the film much lighter than other Marvel offerings.
