Family Guy is a short (20 minutes an episode) animated comedy series about the Griffin Family - Dad Peter (A fat idiot, his words not mine) his wife Lois, their three children Chris, Meg and Stewey (a baby with plans for world domination - kinda like a baby bond villain) and of course their taking dog Brian who is Peters best friend.
First of all I need to point out that this is in fact not all of season 4 but just the first 13 episodes. From TV.com I have seen that there are 27 episodes in this season not 13 so I felt that this was a little bit of false advertising and when I found out I felt a bit cheated especially paying £17.99 for only half a season as I will have to buy the other half as well when it comes out as I love the show.
Family Guy originally ran for 3 seasons but was cancelled by FOX a few years ago. However due to online petitions and the phenomenon sales of the first three seasons on DVD FOX brought the show back late last year. If you have seen any of the first three seasons you will be familiar with the format - controversial humour in the same vain as South Park without the political undercurrents. Family guy is in one word "Hilarious" and even though some of the jokes are a little close to the edge of acceptability they are always funny. That said I found season four to be a bit weaker than the pervious three seasons as some of the jokes seem to be made just to be controversial, the episodes don't flow as smoothly as before with weaker storylines and too many old jokes are worked in such as the evil monkey and the greased up deaf guy.
In summary I found season 4 funny and the show is still good however not quite as good as the first three seasons, thus I would recommend it to fans of the show but if you have not seen much of the show I would recommend you buy any of the first three seasons before buying this one.
The special features include commentaries (on 10 of the 13 episodes) by the creator Seth McFarlane, deleted scenes, stills galleries and a Multi-angle table read featurette showing the celebrity voice cast (including Seth Green and Mila Kunis) in action.
