Family Guy is amongst the top humorous cartoons I have ever watched. The characters are funny, the jokes are brilliant.
Yet I feel somewhat disappointed. This disappointment stems from the fact that Family Guy has copied The Simpsons in many ways. The creators did not plagiarise but they incorporated many characteristics of The Simpsons into family guy.
Advantages of watching Family Guy: 20 minutes of pure humorous indulgence, a talking evil baby overwhelmed by the fact that he wants to kill his mum and take over the world( Stewie Griffin), a talking dog (Brian Griffin: funny he has the same surname) , a funny man named Peter Griffin, a somewhat conservative Louis ( Peter's wife), a boy with a funny voice who sounds like he hasn't gone through puberty (Chris Griffin) and the most hated girl on the show (Meg Griffin.) Other humorous characters include Mayor Adam west (much funnier than Mayor Quimby from the Simpsons and a sexually active man named Quagmire who says "GIGGITYGIGGITYGOOOOOO" all the time.
However disadvantages may arise: American jokes may not be understood by people in the UK, all episodes have a limited storyline and some jokes tend to 'drag' on.
I would recommend this show and particularly this season for any person who enjoys the Simpsons or American Dad.....Family Guy tops both of them. Simpsons and American Dad are slightly conserved, but Family guy is in your face , crude and is a mix of South Park adult humour and The Simpsons.
A brilliant show: but not one for the kids....sorry its far too crude! ( Even if they do not use any swearwords whatsoever!)
