Seasons one and two were extremely funny, but are mere shadows when compared to season three! This is a purchase that has to be made and found relatively cheaply, its a wise investment for anyone who enjoys a laugh, even if some of it is slightly crude!

Each episode sucks you into an exciting plot (nothing too serious) whilst amusingly going off the point from time to time. There is no need for special effects as the characters and the animation of the program speak for themselves! Seth Macfarlane (creator and several of the voices) has struck gold with Family Guy and season 3 is definitly the icing on the cake for now!

Season four is an anticlimax to season three and appears to let it self down, but that is because the quality of Season three is so high! There are so many good episodes to mention, including a seasonal "merry freekin xmas" epidode where Lois cracks under christmas pressure when she finds out that there are no paper towels in the house despite the house being totally runied due to a spontaneous fire that took place while Brian was in the house!

Aside from the Griffin Family, there are other very memorable character, one of my favourites being Glenn Quagmire- the sex maniac from across the road; famous for his catchphrase Giggety giggety giggety goo!!. For those of you who are familiar with American TV there are a few familiar voices for such as Chris Griffin played by Seth Green (Dr Evils son, Austin Powers), Joe Swanson (the guy in the wheelchair) played by the same guy who plays Jeb Stanton in Less than Perfect (a funny sitcom that takes part in the workplace - i reccommend it!)

Overall, the DVD does it justice, although I would like to see some special features (to see them you have to buy the box set, and the special features appear on a seperate DVD) There is good picture and sound quality throughout, although getting the DVD disc scratch can compromise the whole set of episodes, and not just one or to - despite that you wouldnt want to worry this season, with episodes such as "from method to madness" and "ready willing and disabled" the season is jam packed full of laughs and gags and spontaneous daydreamery!!!

My personal favourite episode is the one where the Griffin family have to travel to the deep south (part of the witness protection programme) and they encounter a whole new life down there, including a certain animal friend that peter encounters several times!!!! (No spoilers here...!) Buy it and be happily surprised!!
