The Little Car Takes First...And Third Place!!!
Advantages: Classic, Hilarious, and Crowd Pleasing Disney Classic Disadvantages: Why couldn't all three actors be together for the commentary?
...lot of gloop written about the bond between a man and his automobile on how he hates it sometimes but mostly how he loves it. He showers gifts on it in the way of accessories and all that. He gets hysterical if someone scratches the paint or makes it lose face on the freeway. Maybe some of those feelings got into the machinery, I don't know. There is something real about that little car, something that doesn't even have a name. What I don't understand ... ...--- Jim Douglas

THE STORY ABOUT A CAR WITH A MIND OF ITS OWN
**********************************************************************
I'm telling you all right now, for a potentially silly Disney comedy filled with hilarious moments, these words that Jim Douglas (played by Dean Jones) says near the end of the film have a lot of poignancy to them; this is mainly because they ...

A MOMENT FROM CHILDHOOD
Advantages: A GOOD CHILDRENS STORY Disadvantages: DATED SPECIAL EFFECTS
In 1962, when I was 11 years old, I went to see a film that was to change the way in which I viewed cinema. As a naïve child with a hunger for something new, this film certainly delivered and I shall tell you why.
The Film was made by Disney Productions with the Director being Robert Stevenson, and actors of the principle parts being played by a young Hayley Mills, Keith Hamshire and Maurice Chevalier. Very loosely based on a Jules Verne novel entitled ... ...in their voyage of belief that their father is alive, whilst reported dead at sea. It's an old classic film, and brings together all the aspects of good cinematography that I believe to be a must for children growing up, seeking adventure and excitement in their entertainment. At the same viewing, which was an afternoon special that included another film from Hayley Mills entitled Pollyana, this was the film that stuck out in my mind, because of ...

This is such an old film which was made ... ...of this film is definitely Old Yeller as he was amazing and extremely well trained. He was able to tug at my heart strings with just one slight turn of the head or funny look!
The story was good and was made quite believable. I did not find it got boring at any point and found the whole film very enjoyable. I liked how it did not take a lot of brain power to watch or follow and was very light and fun and designed with children in mind. I did start ...

The Law's gone to the Dogs
Advantages: funny without vulgarity, watchable for entire family incl adults, good underlying mesages, enaging storyline Disadvantages: preferably watched after 1959's original version of The Shaggy Dog
In the 1970's Disney was churning out a lot of live action family films. Designed as a sequel to the popular 1959 film, The Shaggy Dog, in which a young boy, Wilby, uses a magic ring to turn himself into a dog and gets into scrapes, the Shaggy DA follows the young lad once again as an adult. He has graduated from university with a law degree, and is a respected member of the community. The town's district attorney is a crooked man, however, and tired ... ...Wilby decides to run for the office of District Attorney. Unfortunately, someone has stolen the magic ring, and he keeps turning into a hairy sheepdog. Who has stolen the ring, and will he be successful in his quest to restore justice?
This film is rather underrated. This is quality slapstick comedy, and while younger members of the family may not grasp the finer points of the storyline, they will definitely get the gags. The jokes are pretty high ...
