Harry potter 1-5 dvd Advantages: great film, Disadvantages: parts from the book not in the film All of the harry potter films are fantastic action adventure films. I think that they are brilliant films to watch with your family as all the films have a great story. In my opinion the harry potter series is one of the greatest of them all. Reading the Harry potter books help with the story line but it is not needed as it is very easy to follow compared to films like the Matrix ect. The Harry potter films are a must see in my opinion. The First Harry Potter Film Advantages: Wonderful story, great actors, Disadvantages: misses a few bits ...instant rapport and passion for Harry and friends to get one over on the awful Malfoy. I liked the effects used and the costumes, everything in the film really sets the atmosphere. The dim lighting as they await the sorting ceremony, the cosy Gryffindor common room, that just feels like home. It has all been done brilliantly. The only thing, as with any book to film transistion, is that some characters and bits are left out. What is the Chamber's Secret? Advantages: good story, great effects, great acting Disadvantages: Big chunks of the book missing Harry Potter finds himself being back at Privet Drive with his Aunt and Uncle as it is the school holidays, he is quite sad that none of his friends have written to him and is feeling very lonely. And So the Story Begins Advantages: great acting, good storyline Disadvantages: So much missing from the book ...find out that this is Harry Potter and his parents have been killed so he is now being raised by his Aunt and Uncle and their son Dudley. He is not liked by them as they are scared he will find out the truth and before long Harry gets a surprise. As Harry turns 11 he finally gets a letter telling him about Hogwarts School and how he has a place there, Hagrid soon finds Harry and gives him the letter personally as Aunt and Uncle have stopping him ... ...that he is a wizard. Harry and Hagrid set off to London to get him his supplies and soon he is looking for platform 9 ¾ to catch the Hogwarts express to take him away to his new life.
