Review of Monsters, Inc. (DVD)

Finding Nemo is a superb family film, guaranteed to entertain.

Advantages: Great for all ages
Disadvantages: could have included more soundtracks.

Finding Nemo is a fantastic film for all the family. The visual effects are super, the storyline is easy to follow without being the least bit boring and the characters are all unique and entertaining. The comedy is simple enough to get the kids laughing out loud but is also genuinely funny for the adult viewers. Tim Burton is A Class

Advantages: Interesting characters, expertly created
Disadvantages: Songs can get stuck in your head

Good, not great

Advantages: It's tthe Simpsons!
Disadvantages: It's a bit too long and convoluted at times

The Simpsons series are brilliant. Witty, cleverly written satire that sometimes cuts very deep. The Simpsons movie tries to travel the same route but gets a little derailed. The idea (global environmental armaggeddon) is clever and ripe for plucking but somehow it falls a little bit flat. Riveting Robots?

Advantages: Fun film with a strong voice cast and good animation
Disadvantages: In the face of stronge competition, it doesn't quite match up

It also goes to show that you can't judge a robot by its upgrades as the line between goodie and baddie cannot be drawn based on the appearance of a robot.
