Great to see Pat on Dvd, but a tad too short
Review of Postman Pat Clowns Around DVD by
bud1984
Advantages: Great for toddlers
Disadvantages: bit too short
I used to love Postman Pat as a child,. so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a newer version on TV. My Son (3) also seemed delighted, and that's why we decided to get a Postman Pat DVD. Postman Pat Clowns around consists of 3 episodes, each around 15-20 minutes long. All 3 episodes are entertaining, and my son's enjoyed watching this DVD over and over and over. The only slight niggle is the length, which comes in at just under an hour. To me, ... ...it too short, and so Postman Pat has to go on again straight after it's just finished. I don't think I'd pay over £4 for it, because of the length. However, one very good thing about the DVD is that there are no childrens' TV ads at the beginning to sift through or skip, it's just straight onto the menu. All in all, it's good to see Pat back on DVD, just don't pay too much for it. ...

Worzel Gummidge Series 1
Review of Worzel Gummidge - Series 1 DVD by
DuwDuw
Advantages: Nostalgic memories aplenty and a great series for the next generation
Disadvantages: Poorer quality produced on DVD and taken directly of origional film.
Worzel Gummidge is the somewhat scary scarecrow that came to our TV screens during 1979 and 1984. I was asked by a colleague to give a little talk on a popular TV programme for children from my youth and Worzel Gummidge came to mind. In an effort to remember the series I decided to purchase the complete 4 series' and even the fifth and sixth series based down under in New Zealand called Worzel Gummidge Down Under. The series has now become a firm ... ...small moral undertone. Worzel Gummidge is a childrens character from the books of Barbara Euphen Todd and after a number of years in print it was then played as a childrens show on British radio in 1947. The television adaption was decided by Southern TV in late 1970's and with the clever writting talents of Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, Worzel Gummidge was born in glorious colour. Worzel Gummidge the hapless scarecrow that had a number of heads ...

Postman Pat delivers, again!
Review of Postman Pat - Postman Pat And The Ice Cream Machine DVD by
mikefnw75
Advantages: Funny plots, great animation, four great tales.
Disadvantages: Poor extras
I'm sure you all remember Postman Pat, who could possilby forget the wonderful theme tune? It is arguably the best ever child's theme tune. Well he's back after a ten year rest, in Postman Pat's Ice Cream Machine! I've been fortunate enough to watch the DVD numerous times thanks to my wonderful two year old son and I thought I'd share mine and his thoughts with you.
***OVERVIEW****
This DVD covers four stories:
Ted Glyn's amazing invention
A ... ...The animation in the new Postman Pat tales are impressive and a real improvement on the original in terms of smoothness and their quality.
*** CHILD'S VIEW***
My two year old loves this and my ten month son is growing more and more keen. We quite often keep the neighbours entertained with a rendition of the theme song. He loves Pat and of course Jess and the red van. However there are so many other great characters like PC Selby, Ted Glyn, Sanjay ...

Again again! Play it again Mummy and Daddy.
Review of Children's Favourites - Funtastic DVD by
garleon
Advantages: This can keep the kids quiet ALL day and night.
Disadvantages: This will annoy you ALL day and night
...this playing in a bookshop's children's section. It was on for the whole day every day, so the assistant said.(Poor Lass). You could imagine this playing in a playgroup or nursery. It is the kind of dvd that suits children's areas in shops. The kind of area where kids are directed by sales people so Mummy and Daddy can spend money.
On the whole this is a compilation you could make yourself with the video and day......but why bother with the effort ... ...to buy one and put it over to Grannys house. You know granny who doesn't have Sky tv,but does have a dvd player. Or it could come in very handy for those everyone up in the middle of the night events. The kind that occur in our house when my son has a cold. I put Angelina on and he drifts of into sleep.....untill he hears the Thomas music that is!
Menus
The animated menus between selections are nice and bright and suitably colourful. They consist ...
