Aladdin (DVD) by Dapocosta Advantages: On Dvd has extra features Disadvantages: quite old fashioned Rub upon a lamp and get three wishes. As we enter the world of Alladin a street urchin who has a pet monkey (Abu). They come across an escapee princess Jasmine, who was fustrated with her father (the Sultan of Agrabah) for having her life lived for her and the fact that she has to have an arranged, obligated marriage. A great modern adaptation of the Greek myth Advantages: Great songs, good character development. Disadvantages: None that I can think of... A consistently underrated Disney film, Hercules contains all the traditional disney magic with the twist of a Gospel-feeling soundtrack. Great entertainment for both kids and adults Advantages: A great story that keeps you interested Disadvantages: Not that many songs ...which holds the secret of Treasure Planet. Jim Hawkins, who is the main character, succesfully finds the map that will lead him to the treasure from a houndred worlds. In my opinion this is not your usual Disney animation. There is not enough music and not that many jokes but it works nevertheless. During the whole film you feel like you are in a different world and you start imaginating being there with these characters. I am a huge Disney buff ... ...is a robot deserted on Treasure Planet. Even though he has his funny moments I still think he is sometimes too much. Another important feature that all Disney films must have is great music and lots of it, which I felt was missing in Treasure Planet. Herbie the Bug you wouldn't wanna Squash Advantages: More of that little love bug Disadvantages: can never find a problem with herbie Herbie goes bananas, I don't think the title is anything to this little bugs health, more to do with the films location. This time Herbie's in Central America (Rio D, Janero) were he's set to enter the Grande Premio race. But the fun starts as his owners are setting of on the voyage to Rio, This time the owners after deal with a smuggling syndicate, a midget pickpocket and little Herbie even has to go head to head with a mad Bull. As usual with ... ...cheekiness brings smiles and laughter all the way through. Allthough I am biased on my views as I love anything to do with Herbie, a lot of the humour may seem a bit outdated for the younger generation (teens) of today, and some of the acting a touch prim and proper compared to what there used to. It will be enjoyed by most, but possibly more of a nostalgia trip for the older ones.
