Good old Mr Toad!
Advantages: funny, appeals to all ages, good actors Disadvantages: you will likely already know the plot
This is the latest version on dvd of the Wind in the Willows which was released out on dvd 26/03/2007. I found this version of the classic tale to be the greatest version yet and i think Matt Lucas from little Britain play a quality character as good old Mr Toad. This dvd will appeal to children and adults alike, definately a must see film.
The film is set in the english countryside with lovely picturesque views, the dialogue of the characters and ... ...your little rowing boat across the river. costumes - very detailed, although i doubt anyone would want to wear the simple clothes of Mole or Badger, the lovely suits worn by Mr Toad, Rat and the weasels are simply divine. soundtrack - very upbeat and jolly music when all is well and good but things turn sinister when theres a weasel around. story - The weasels have bought a field from Mr Toad leaving poor Mole (lee ingleby) without a place to call ...

A lengthy mystical adaptation
Advantages: Imaginatively filmed, some funny gags Disadvantages: Painstakingly slow and some annoying characters
The Hogfather is a film based on a novel by Terry Pratchett. I've not read any of his books but generally like all things fantasy-based so decided to sky-plus this when it was on over the Christmas break. The Hogfather is a tale set in a mythical city called Ankh Morpork which is an important city in the DiscWorld. It is Hogswatch time (a winter festival in which gifts are exchanged, not unlike Christmas). The Hogfather - DiscWorld's equivalent of ... ...on Hogswatch Eve. However the Hogfather has a bounty on his head. Something or someone wants to end Hogswatch and much more. The Hogfather's colleague Death decides to take his role and delivers presents aided by his side-kick Albert who brings some much needed comedy to the situation. Whilst presents are being delivered Death's grand daughter Susan tries to save the day. Meanwhile Mr Teatime (pronounced Te-ah- timeh) captures the tooth fairy and ...

Twas the night before Hogswatch.....
Advantages: A very entertaining and funny programme. Disadvantages: May not appeal to everybody as it is Fantasy/Discworld.
...set out to rescue the Hogfather and ensure that the Sun will return.
I do hope that I have not given too much away. Those who have already read the book or watched the original Sky One production will know the story. A screen play is not the same as a stage play or the book upon which it may have been based. So this production does not follow the book word for word. Not every character from the book is present and some are not as prominent. Anybody ... ...Dominic Borrelli ... Grotto Hogfather John Boswall ... The Chair of Indefinite Studies Ed Coleman ... Ponder Stibbons Craig Conway ... Chickenwire David Decio ... Unseen University student wizard Rachel Edward ... Bobble-hat Child's Mother John Franklyn-Robbins ... The Dean Roger Frost ... Sweet Dreams from the BFG!
Advantages: good animation based on a children's classic! Disadvantages: none
THe BFG is an excellent animated film made in 1990 and based on the wonderful story by Roald Dahl.. It tells the story of a little orphan girl called Sophie, who looking out of her bedroom window one night, spots a giant. He realises that he has been spotted and before she knows it she is scooped up in his hand and taken away to Giant Land. She is, unsurprisingly, very frightened, until he explains that: 'I is not like all the others. I is a nice ... ...are nowhere as nice as the BFG though. They go by the names of Bloodbottler, Fleshlumper and Butcher Boy, to name a few, and they are nasty hideous creatures who go round eating 'human beans'. The BFG only eats snozzcumbers which taste disgusting. The BFG spends his days catching lovely dreams for boys and girls, and each night he goes and blows them into their bedrooms. When, they realsie that the other giants have a nasty scheme to eat up lots ...

Fully Entertainment
Advantages: Surprising, Adventurouse, Entertaining, and good animation. Disadvantages: Dialogues are not that much clear according to the small kids.
Harry Potter is filled with full of adventure , action and mind blowing animations. When you once start watching it you will not get up even for pee. Becuase it contains lots of surprising events which raises your hair. Interesting is that Harry Potter is a very courageouse kid and his friends really remains with them till the end.
Watching this movie is really money value movie.
Regarding character of the movie and the story line, its amazing. ... ...The Hobbit and a witch in “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”. I also think that the emphasis on magic is different than its use in the book “A Wrinkle in Time”. If you found those themes objectionable in the Harry Potter books—they are very convincing in the film. ...
