I use to watch the Herbie films when I was really young and loved them. Getting older I have not grown out of this!
Love Bug - When we first meet Herbie. With an excellent cast this film even those who hate car racing cannot not watch this film! Herbie is everyones dream car - though maybe not in body! He is clever, fast, cheeky and helpful. In this film we see him bought by Jim Douglas who realises there is more to Herbie than meets the eye. They ... ...sold him the car in the first place! The final big race comes up! It\'s Herbie or Peter - who will win?
Herbie Rides Again - Based in a Fire House and town roads, although not racing Herbie has not lost his charm and speed as he drives Mrs Steimence around the town whilst she does her knitting. This is about Herbie and his friends against Mr Hawk who wants to tear down the fire house where they live. Will he be scared into submission?

Advantages: Nostalgic memories aplenty and a great series for the next generation Disadvantages: Poorer quality produced on DVD and taken directly of origional film.
Worzel Gummidge is the somewhat scary scarecrow that came to our TV screens during 1979 and 1984. I was asked by a colleague to give a little talk on a popular TV programme for children from my youth and Worzel Gummidge came to mind. In an effort to remember the series I decided to purchase the complete 4 series' and even the fifth and sixth series based down under in New Zealand called Worzel Gummidge Down Under. The series has now become a firm ... ...small moral undertone. Worzel Gummidge is a childrens character from the books of Barbara Euphen Todd and after a number of years in print it was then played as a childrens show on British radio in 1947. The television adaption was decided by Southern TV in late 1970's and with the clever writting talents of Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, Worzel Gummidge was born in glorious colour. Worzel Gummidge the hapless scarecrow that had a number of heads ...

Advantages: Teaches about friendship Disadvantages: It can be quite scary.
Roald Dahl is one of the big names in childrens story writing and one that many people can recall from school days, The BFG (Big friendly Giant) is just one of many tales. The BFG has been adapted to a full length animated feature film and is available on DVD for a very reasonable price. The animation is maybe not of the standard of todays current animated favourites but I think the visual quality is inkeeping with the era and sets the scene perfectly ... ...The special features on the dvd include, 3 interactive games, an interview with Brian Cosgrove (The creator), a photo gallery, interactive storyboards and songs. These combined with the film will provide hours of entertainment for children.
The main character in the film is of course the big friendly giant so there's no surprise that the voice is supplied by the well known and much respected actor David Jason who really does make the character come ...

The special features are lacking but the Show itself is amazing, I didnt read the book but after i saw this i started with all the Discworld novels and getting me to read is quite difficult.
As a DVD however i thorght it was deffinity lacking in the Special Features and the fact that its not avalable in High ... ...that. the fact that Skyone has already made another Discworld TV Movie The Colour of Magic should tell you how much of a success this was and if your intrested in the Discworld its deffinity worth a look in. Advantages: Great story Great animation Great lessons learned Disadvantages: Can be quite distressing to young children
...a legend in my house! Pinocchio is as everyone knows a puppet, who wants to be a real boy. The story follows his antics from being part of a puppet show to going to Pleasure Island the story really can be taken in two ways, children see the innocence in this little puppet and learn lessons about strangers, but adults see the darker side of Walt Disneys story telling and really it was ahead of time addressing alot of the issues that parent really ...
