Roald rules

Advantages: Brilliant story, well adapted for teh screen
Disadvantages: The real life bits

James And The Giant Peach is a splendid film version (part real life, part animation) of a wonderful book by Roald Dahl. It tells the story of a boy who is orphaned and goes to live with his foul old aunts but ends up sailing away on a giant peach which grows in his garden. Sounds pretty naff, don't it? But rest assured the reality is a wonderful thing and the book is as good as any that Dahl ever wrote. The film version, however, is absolutely ...
...voyage by all manner of friendly but very prickly giant insects (the spider is a worrying, perverse, very sexy creation). I've seen the film several times and believe me it doesn't age with the viewings - this is one of those timeless family entertainment films that gives the genre a good name. I don't know anyone apart from one other writer on Ciao who doesn't love this film. I can't see the problem and I disagree with a lot of what he says. Trust ...

Good fun!

Advantages: Dialogue, cracking pace, excellent animation
Disadvantages: May not be suitable for children who are old enough to understand innuendo

...for adults as well and Ice Age 3 certainly delivered on that front. I've seen Ice Age2 on TV but not the first film and never in the cinema. On top of that this was a 3D show. The story essentially follows Manny, the mammoth, his heavily pregnant wife, Ellie and Diego, the sabre toothed tiger as they venture under the ice to a land where dinosaurs are not extinct. They do this to try and rescue Sid, who feeling unloved due to the impending arrival ...
...subsequently been carried off with his 'children' by their real mother. In dinosaur world they meet Buck, the weasel with the Sylvester Stallone eyepatch and knife, the British accent (Simon Pegg voices him) and the literary connections to Captain Ahab of Moby Dick (both have been left injured by 'the great white beast', both are unnaturally obsessed and slightly unhinged by it). As a sideline, Scratt is still seeking his acorn but this time there ...

"I thought you guys were extinct?"

Advantages: amazing picture quality, good fun for all the family!
Disadvantages: Cant think of any.

I bought my wife Ice Age 3 for Christmas. She asked for it. Can't say its my type of film, but being a loving husband I sat down and watched it with her anyway. The first thing that struck me, being a blu ray, is the amazing quality. Animated films and comic-esque outings (like the Simpsons) always take full advantage of the High Definition nature of blu ray and make a movie a pleasure for the eye to behold. Ice Age 3 is quite possibly the best example ...
...were apparently living below the ice and meeting a swash buckling weasel who helps save the day. All the while, we get to watch the fun adventures of the little chap chasing his acorn, that have been present in the past films. This time, there's a love interest!! Its quite a good watch and plenty of fun for all the family. The usual deleted scenes and such are present, I can't say I watched them though, sorry, but its not my cup-of-tea, as I said. ...

PAINT THE WHOLE WORLD.

Advantages: THE KIDDIES WILL LOVE WATCHING IT
Disadvantages: NOTHING

RAINBOW "Up above the streets and houses, Rainbow climbing high, Everyone can see it smiling over the sky”. “Paint the whole word with a Rainbow” First aired in 1972 and ran for an incredible 20 years and contained an astonishing 1071 episodes. The general format was, what is quite common now, where it would be on twice a week, usually for around 15 – 20 minutes. It was aimed squarely at kids and contained some iconic figures that ...
...revolved around adventures to go on, usually around the house, or more likely problems to be solved. It would always be resolved by the puppets or by a song. Cast: = Zippy Loud and opinionated and always right about everything, well in his mind. George A shy pink hippo, go figure? He was always getting into trouble. Bungle A huge brown and very clumsy bear. Very unfrightening and a bit dozey. Geoffrey The father figure of the group and ...

* Go Stripes!!*

Advantages: Suitable for Everyone , Funny , Cute
Disadvantages: None!

...watch a film called ' Racing Stripes' ; of course my sister got her own way! Racing Stripes is an adventure/comedy movie released in 2005. The film was directed by Frederik Du Chau and stars Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere. Running time of the movie is one hundred and two minutes (eighteen minutes under two hours) and the movie is rated as a U. The DVD is available to buy from play.com for £4.99. When a little Zebra who belongs to a circus is ...
...enters a race ? Watch Racing Stripes to find out! At first I was a bit like , oh I don't want to see this , as in the first scene we see a little zebra left behind , and it looked a sad film , and I hate sad animal films as they upset me , but decided to go ahead and watch it anyway. I'm so glad I did. This movie is a lot like Babe ; instead of a pig who thinks he's a sheepdog , we have a zebra who thinks he's a racehorse. I thought that this movie ...
