Rockit's DVD
Advantages: Quite good extras Disadvantages: All in one long episode
Fimbles – Smelly Jelly I have to admit that Fimbles are not one of my favourite children’s programmes though my daughter loves it so we decided to go and get her a DVD so when we wanted to watch something on the television, she could watch it happily on the laptop – which she enjoys doing as its mummy’s laptop and she isn’t meant to touch it! The Fimbles are Fimbo, Florrie and Baby Pom, who all live in a lovely, colourful place called Fimble Valley. ... ...main. The three fimbles have a special sense they call their ‘Fimbling Feeling’ which tells them that there is something special lying around for them to find, from a ray of sunlight to something very everyday such as a stone. Whatever they find becomes the catalyst for the whole episode. Yes one random object defines a whole object – doesn’t sound very interesting does it, though young children really seem hooked on it. Roly Mo is a character within ...

Fimbles - Fimbly Bimbly - Finding is Fun.
These are more characters created by the BBC. Fimbles are 3 Giant stripy creatures who live in fimble valley with all their friends. It's an amazing place, where flowers talk and giggle and the whole forest is alive. There are 7 main characters in the fimbles:
Fimbo - he is the tallest fimble in fimble valley. He is green and yellow stripes. He loves crumble crackers (look like oat cakes) and his ... ...the items are that the fimbles find and give them help and advice- Bessie is pink/variety of colours.
Ribble - this is her little chick, he is bright orange and is often playing with Pom. Ribble doesn't really talk just makes noises but everyone understands what he is saying.
Rockit - he is the bouncing, jumping frog who lives in a tree in fimble valley. He is good friends with the fimbles, joins in their games and adventures but ...

Good fun!
Advantages: Dialogue, cracking pace, excellent animation Disadvantages: May not be suitable for children who are old enough to understand innuendo
...for adults as well and Ice Age 3 certainly delivered on that front. I've seen Ice Age2 on TV but not the first film and never in the cinema. On top of that this was a 3D show. The story essentially follows Manny, the mammoth, his heavily pregnant wife, Ellie and Diego, the sabre toothed tiger as they venture under the ice to a land where dinosaurs are not extinct. They do this to try and rescue Sid, who feeling unloved due to the impending arrival ... ...subsequently been carried off with his 'children' by their real mother. In dinosaur world they meet Buck, the weasel with the Sylvester Stallone eyepatch and knife, the British accent (Simon Pegg voices him) and the literary connections to Captain Ahab of Moby Dick (both have been left injured by 'the great white beast', both are unnaturally obsessed and slightly unhinged by it). As a sideline, Scratt is still seeking his acorn but this time there ...

"I thought you guys were extinct?"
Advantages: amazing picture quality, good fun for all the family! Disadvantages: Cant think of any.
I bought my wife Ice Age 3 for Christmas. She asked for it. Can't say its my type of film, but being a loving husband I sat down and watched it with her anyway. The first thing that struck me, being a blu ray, is the amazing quality. Animated films and comic-esque outings (like the Simpsons) always take full advantage of the High Definition nature of blu ray and make a movie a pleasure for the eye to behold. Ice Age 3 is quite possibly the best example ... ...were apparently living below the ice and meeting a swash buckling weasel who helps save the day. All the while, we get to watch the fun adventures of the little chap chasing his acorn, that have been present in the past films. This time, there's a love interest!! Its quite a good watch and plenty of fun for all the family. The usual deleted scenes and such are present, I can't say I watched them though, sorry, but its not my cup-of-tea, as I said. ...
