I have got to say that as a child I loved this film. Granted i was animal mad and this film catered to that what with the three talking house pets. It is a great film for a wet day or a lazy sunday when you just want to relax as a family and it is perfectly suited to the younger audience although as a child i did find one scene rather upsetting but as the film has a happy ending and everything works out for the best so the trauma was always short ...
...a cat and two dogs, are left with a friend while the family is living away for a while. The animals not understanding that their owners are coming back for them run away from their carer and make the journey home. Based on a true story it is a heart warming film that is fun to whatch over and over again although I am sure my parents would claim otherwise after being made to sit through it at leats once a week for a couple of years ...

Review of Homeward Bound (DVD)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire - A great movie for all ages.

Advantages: Great voice-acting and plot.
Disadvantages: Some plot holes and predictable ending.

...but I decided to watch Atlantis even though there wasn't a group of singing mice or Princesses in it. A cartoon about the lost city of Atlantis seemed too interesting to miss, especially since it was created by Disney. I wasn't disappointed either. A very touching film

Advantages: emotional, still current after 60 years
Disadvantages: none

Jumbo, no, he is DUMBO!

Advantages: Great for children, wonderful animation
Disadvantages: None

Dumbo is a film which we bought for our eldest for Christmas but last night we decided me and the hubby would watch it in peace as I have never seen it before and he thinks this is a tragedy! The film starts with all the circus animals getting a delivery from the stalks, all except Mrs Jumbo. The circus then packs up and moves on to the next town but as they are on the train a late stalk delivers a package to Mrs Jumbo. All of the other female elephants ...
...say he is more like Dumbo not Jumbo. As the train arrives in the next town the animals and men set to work putting the circus tent up and getting everything ready for the new visitors. The elephants are all in their places and the crowds start to arrive. One of the boys who comes to see the elephants starts to make fun of Dumbo and Mrs Jumbo starts to protect her son by throwing the laughing boys away and in the process the circus tent gets damaged ...

In A World Of Her Own...

Advantages: Wonderful songs, great animation, wonderful bonus features
Disadvantages: Nothing!
