He is a simple scarecrow who was made by a rather magical Crowman in 1979 (ish).
Worzel first spent most of his early years living in a small village in Hampshire, intentionally made to scare the crows from Scatterbrook farm, but his curious nature makes him neglect his 'scaring' duties and is the reason for many of his troubles.

A great modern adaptation of the Greek myth
Advantages: Great songs, good character development. Disadvantages: None that I can think of...
A consistently underrated Disney film, Hercules contains all the traditional disney magic with the twist of a Gospel-feeling soundtrack. Based on the Greek myth Hercules is a film about the son of Zeus (King of the Gods) - a boy that due to Hedes and his evil henchmen's work is rendered mortal. Because Hercules is made mortal by Hedes he can no longer stay on Mount Olympus with his father and is raised on Earth by foster parents. However, he still ...

Worzel Gummidge Series 1
Advantages: Nostalgic memories aplenty and a great series for the next generation Disadvantages: Poorer quality produced on DVD and taken directly of origional film.
Worzel Gummidge is the somewhat scary scarecrow that came to our TV screens during 1979 and 1984. I was asked by a colleague to give a little talk on a popular TV programme for children from my youth and Worzel Gummidge came to mind. In an effort to remember the series I decided to purchase the complete 4 series' and even the fifth and sixth series based down under in New Zealand called Worzel Gummidge Down Under. The series has now become a firm ... ...small moral undertone. Worzel Gummidge is a childrens character from the books of Barbara Euphen Todd and after a number of years in print it was then played as a childrens show on British radio in 1947. The television adaption was decided by Southern TV in late 1970's and with the clever writting talents of Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, Worzel Gummidge was born in glorious colour. Worzel Gummidge the hapless scarecrow that had a number of heads ...
