Ice Age/ Chicken Run

Advantages: Two classic films in one amazing box set
Disadvantages: There is none

Ice Age- This is the best movie ever it has all the great characters and one great storyline. It is set in a ice age long ago when all the animals began to move south to warmer climates when the ice came. One mammoth stays behind as usual as he is a lonely grumpy animal when he meets a sloth who has been left behind by his family. ...family. Chicken Run- This is also another great movie the storyline is fab and the chickens are cute and funny. Lots of chickens are desperate to get away from a chicken farm they are living at. The leader of the chickens comes up with all the plans and many mishaps and adventures are had along the way to freedom. A great family movie well worth watching. ...

Review of Ice Age / Chicken Run (DVD)

Time to chill!

Advantages: A brilliant, funny and action packed family movie.
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!

...age once and for all. Ice Age brings the old times of wooly mammoths, saber toothed tigers and sloths to the modern age and vamps it up to the latest technology. The movie shows the tale of a child who's mother was killed by a tiger. The father attempts to try and find the child but his young offspring continues to slip away all the while being guided by a sloth, a woolly mamoth and a tiger who's actual mission was to kill the child is then later ...
...young child's affectionate looks and gentle nature. As for the actors' voices it is absolutely fantastic and the whole movie is filled with several little quirks and hilarious turns which all just adds up to possibly the greatest digitally formatted movie of the twenty-first century. In the end my personal thoughts about the whole movie was that it is perfectly made perfectly casted and in the end a movie that is perfect for the whole family anytime ...

Review of Ice Age (Animated) (Extreme Edition) (DVD)

Good fun!

Advantages: Dialogue, cracking pace, excellent animation
Disadvantages: May not be suitable for children who are old enough to understand innuendo

...for adults as well and Ice Age 3 certainly delivered on that front. I've seen Ice Age2 on TV but not the first film and never in the cinema. On top of that this was a 3D show. The story essentially follows Manny, the mammoth, his heavily pregnant wife, Ellie and Diego, the sabre toothed tiger as they venture under the ice to a land where dinosaurs are not extinct. They do this to try and rescue Sid, who feeling unloved due to the impending arrival ...
...subsequently been carried off with his 'children' by their real mother. In dinosaur world they meet Buck, the weasel with the Sylvester Stallone eyepatch and knife, the British accent (Simon Pegg voices him) and the literary connections to Captain Ahab of Moby Dick (both have been left injured by 'the great white beast', both are unnaturally obsessed and slightly unhinged by it). Review of Ice Age 3 - Dawn Of The Dinosaurs (DVD)

"I thought you guys were extinct?"

Advantages: amazing picture quality, good fun for all the family!
Disadvantages: Cant think of any.

I bought my wife Ice Age 3 for Christmas. She asked for it. Can't say its my type of film, but being a loving husband I sat down and watched it with her anyway. The first thing that struck me, being a blu ray, is the amazing quality. Animated films and comic-esque outings (like the Simpsons) always take full advantage of the High Definition nature of blu ray and make a movie a pleasure for the eye to behold. Ice Age 3 is quite possibly the best example ...
...were apparently living below the ice and meeting a swash buckling weasel who helps save the day. All the while, we get to watch the fun adventures of the little chap chasing his acorn, that have been present in the past films. This time, there's a love interest!! Its quite a good watch and plenty of fun for all the family. The usual deleted scenes and such are present, I can't say I watched them though, sorry, but its not my cup-of-tea, as I said. ...
