***Introduction*** Bolt is the latest movie made by Disney and so I decided to recently purchase this movie and see what all the fuss was about. This version was only a couple of quid more than the normal DVD and I purchased mine from TheHut (which I have reviewed very recently) and this includes the Blu-ray disc with special features, the film on DVD as well which is worth over £10 and a Rhino soft toy! (the excellent and very funny hamster ... ...Blu-ray! ***Plot*** Bolt and his owner Penny are the stars of a massive TV show with Bolt being the main character. To make everything appear more realistic Bolt must not know that this is just a show and not real and so he believes everything around him is real. ...outlay of the story is spongebob has annoyed everyone for the last time, and he is left feeling that nobody wants him no more, so decides to runaway only to fall down a cliff and lose his memory. Patrick and freinds then go out of their way to find their yellow pal and so the adventure begins. To me the writers seem to cram too much into the 30 minute timeslot, and with the hype behind this episode I'm sure they could have done a one off special ...

Advantages: Only 1.5 hours long so doesn't torture you for too long (thats if you manage to watch it all!) Disadvantages: too many to list - mainly low budget (responsible for the majority of the failings)
...that I TRIED to watch The Secrets of Moonacre. Firstly, the writing was awful, some things were left unexplained, whilst others were explained away immediatley without really giving the viewer chance to wonder. I have read many reviews of this movie which praise the costumes, and in fairness the costumes are great. Very unusual with a Victoriana twist. The sets tried to be larger than life and full of wonder, but actually I found them dull, especially ... ...1 or 2 rooms of the main house, and the woods??? Small budget me thinks?? Everything seems to take place within a very small area! The special effects again, leave a lot to be desired. They may have been impressive 10 or 15 years ago, but as a viewer we are accustomed to more sophisticated computer imagery (if you do watch it, check out the unicorns in the final scene!.......)
