Im with Roo!
Review of Winnie The Pooh - Springtime With Roo (Animated) by SarahJohnston_greenmums

Advantages: Amusing for preschoolers and Pooh bear fanatics
Disadvantages: Some of the extras arent up to the usual Disney standard

...life. With such characters as Winnie the Pooh (a bear with very little brain), Piglet (I’m a small little animal) and the bounceriffic Tigger, it was bound to happen sometime, and Disney took on the challenge with enthusiasm. Winnie the Pooh is now a multi million dollar business, with lots of different types of merchandising and numeral films. However Disney do not own the right to the original Winnie the Pooh artistry by E H Sheppard ~Opinion~ ...
...Winnie the pooh classic. The characters are loveable and as endearing as ever, with plenty of references to the books used to keep them solid and in tune. This film is in the era before the major hype really hit, when the almost ‘plastic’ knocked out films (but still good don’t get me wrong) like the Tigger Movie, Piglets Big Adventure or the Heffalump movie. The feeling of the amount of love in the film really shines, and you certainly don’t get ... Read review

Ooh, Norman Price, you little...
Review of Fireman Sam - Fun Run DVD by BecksterMas

Advantages: Great storylines
Disadvantages: None

Another gem from the Fireman Sam range of DVDs. Pontypandy's finest fire fighters are fit for action all the time in this great collection of stories. There is great humour and it appeals to children and adults alike. It is my favourite children's show- pure quality. It is very well written and the characters are very believable and fun. 'Fun Run'- Sam organises a fun run, but Norman changes all the arrows, as he wants to win the chocolate cake. ...
...spirit. 'Birthday Surprise.' Its Fireman Sam's birthday and he thinks everyone has forgotten. Of course they havent, theyre just planning a surpise party. Unfortunately, Norman forgets to tell Bella that the birthday candles for Sam's cake relight once blown out. 'Norman's Invisible Friend'- Norman invents an invisible friend to try and get double helpings of food. But when a fire breaks out at the Flood's house, Mandy goes back inside to try and ... Sam Saves the Day!
Review of Fireman Sam - Saves The Day DVD by BecksterMas

Advantages: Lots of humour
Disadvantages: None

...yet another superb selection of Fireman Sam stories-great for all the family. The chracters really come alive and there is a lot of humour. Beast of Pontypandy- in this episode, Norman's mum is watching 'Wierd But True', when a beast is shown. Norman has an idea- he decides to cover Woolly in mud and turn him into the beast of Pontepandy. As usual, Norman's plan doesnt go quite as he expects... 'Fit for Nothing'- In this episode, Penny really proves ...
...picture in the newspaper and Fireman Sam congratulates her. Neighbourhood watch Out'- the children decide they are going to be the local neighbourhood watch, but they end up causing problems when they try and catch innocent people. 'The Case of the Liquorice Shoelaces'- Norman is determined to prove hes not been taking the liquorice shoelaces (or has he?!)... He even mistakes Mike Flood's spaghetti for shoelaces. In the end, Dusty solves the mystery. ... Read review

The hero next door
Review of Fireman Sam - To The Rescue! DVD by BecksterMas

Advantages: Great fun
Disadvantages: I wish it lasted even longer!

Fireman Sam 'To the Rescue' is a must for any Fireman Sam fan. There is something really homely and safe about watching Fireman Sam- it is enjoyable for children and adults. There are quite a few jokes in it that appeal to adults only-e.g. Norman's mum is often getting her words mixed up and she sometimes goes on dates with Trevor. 'Danger:Falling Sheep'- in this episode, Norman gets stuck up a mountain with Woolly the sheep. A classic line from ...
...due to his portly figure. Fireman Sam's grease gun comes in handy when getting him out. 'A Real Live Wire'- this is one of my favourite episodes. Mandy finds a squirrels and sneaks it into her bedroom. Unfortunately the squirrel is hungry and before Mandy gets a chance to take him some crisps, he chews through the TV wire, starting a fire. Mandy makes the mistake of going back in to rescue her squirrel- luckily Fireman Sam is at hand. I love the ... Read review

The story must go on!
Review of Around The World With Willy Fog - Vol. 2 (Animated) by marymoose99

Advantages: Theme tune, characters, and childhood memories
Disadvantages: Only 5 episodes on DVD, animation is an acquired taste

...time in fact to go around the world and back again). The series is based upon the classic book "Around the World in 80 days" by Jules Verne, with all the characters in this version being animals. Without wanting to plagiarise myself, a bit more background information and some possibly interesting but useless information can be found in my previous review - http://dvd.ciao.co.uk/AroundTheWorldWithWillyFogVol1AnimatedRe view5614546 If ...
...to the challenge of travelling around the world in 80 days, Fog also has to contend with Transfer (evil trickster and master of disguise hired by Sullivan to ensure that Fog fails), and Inspector Dix from Scotland Yard who thinks that Fog is the Bank of England thief. Buying the DVD I got each DVD as it came out (back in 2004) at approximately £3 per DVD, although now it can be purchased as a box set available currently for approximately ... Read review
