Hell has just frozen over...
Advantages: Giant killer snowman Disadvantages: Cheesy dialogue
Starring Stephen Mendel, F William Parker, Rob Labelle, Eileen Seeley and Scott MacDonald as Jack Frost!
Packaging - Big scary skull with pointy teeth, this has nothing to do with anything in the film!
Rating - 18 (UK)
Plot - Convicted serial kiler Jack Frost is on his way to be executed when the van carrying him is overturned after colliding with an 18-wheeler and he escapes - however just as he breaks free of the prison van the tanker (which ... ...melts him into the snow below his feet.
Needless to say he comes back as a killer snowman who travels to a small town in the mountains intent on gaining revenge over the police officer who captured him and sent him to jail.
Review - The film contains lots of laughs as the townspeople concoct various ludicrous methods to finally see off the demonic snowman - did I really just say "demonic snowman"? - they eventually manage it but not before he wreaks ...

Lion king 2
Advantages: great storyline don't loose interest Disadvantages: Scar's gone
My daughter and I both loved the first edition, particulary the hyenas. Thankfully the hyenas are still in the second story. We loved the hyena who had the hysterical laughter, each time he laughed we laughed till we cried. In the first one particulary loved the evil Scar, and thought maybe the second one would not be as good as his character had been killed off. It did lack that magic that Scar brought with the first one, but it was still very funny, ... ...the characters are memorable. Would gladly recommend for any ages. Great for watching anytime of the day. It would be even better if watched with an extremely large bag of popcorn. I paid seventeen pound from Woolworths for this Dvd, but ebay sell them for £10.00, and Amazon sell for 11.99 for new and used. ...

Disney's Pride Too
Advantages: Good storyline Disadvantages: Songs are not as good as the first movie
The Movie Lion King II: Simba's Pride is a sequel to the film Lion King. The storyline puts Kiara, Simba's daughter, as the main character to which the story evolves. This is a direct-to-video film so it didn't have the chance to be seen on the big screen unlike the first Lion King movie which gained much popularity and media mileage. I personally didn't even know there was a sequel until I saw the poster online. I loved the first Lion King ... ...monkey) holding up a lion cub on the Pride Rock presenting it to the inhabitants of Pridelands. The cub is the child of Simba, the Lion King and Nala. The cub looks like male to me but it turns out that this lion cub is a girl named Kiara. Kiara is as adventurous as his father when he was young. Being so protective, Simba delegates his trusted friends, Timon and Pumbaa to be Kiara’s jolly baby-sitters. In the first Lion King movie, Simba threw Scar’s ...

Good fun!
Advantages: Dialogue, cracking pace, excellent animation Disadvantages: May not be suitable for children who are old enough to understand innuendo
...for adults as well and Ice Age 3 certainly delivered on that front. I've seen Ice Age2 on TV but not the first film and never in the cinema. On top of that this was a 3D show. The story essentially follows Manny, the mammoth, his heavily pregnant wife, Ellie and Diego, the sabre toothed tiger as they venture under the ice to a land where dinosaurs are not extinct. They do this to try and rescue Sid, who feeling unloved due to the impending arrival ... ...subsequently been carried off with his 'children' by their real mother. In dinosaur world they meet Buck, the weasel with the Sylvester Stallone eyepatch and knife, the British accent (Simon Pegg voices him) and the literary connections to Captain Ahab of Moby Dick (both have been left injured by 'the great white beast', both are unnaturally obsessed and slightly unhinged by it). As a sideline, Scratt is still seeking his acorn but this time there ...

"I thought you guys were extinct?"
Advantages: amazing picture quality, good fun for all the family! Disadvantages: Cant think of any.
I bought my wife Ice Age 3 for Christmas. She asked for it. Can't say its my type of film, but being a loving husband I sat down and watched it with her anyway. The first thing that struck me, being a blu ray, is the amazing quality. Animated films and comic-esque outings (like the Simpsons) always take full advantage of the High Definition nature of blu ray and make a movie a pleasure for the eye to behold. Ice Age 3 is quite possibly the best example ... ...were apparently living below the ice and meeting a swash buckling weasel who helps save the day. All the while, we get to watch the fun adventures of the little chap chasing his acorn, that have been present in the past films. This time, there's a love interest!! Its quite a good watch and plenty of fun for all the family. The usual deleted scenes and such are present, I can't say I watched them though, sorry, but its not my cup-of-tea, as I said. ...
