Good old Mr Toad!

Advantages: funny, appeals to all ages, good actors
Disadvantages: you will likely already know the plot

This is the latest version on dvd of the Wind in the Willows which was released out on dvd 26/03/2007. I found this version of the classic tale to be the greatest version yet and i think Matt Lucas from little Britain play a quality character as good old Mr Toad. The perfect family film!

Advantages: Brilliantly done and lots of gorgeous dogs!
Disadvantages: None unless you don't like dogs

MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND: A swashbuckling comedy!

Advantages: Fantastic for the entire family!
Disadvantages: Slapstick based comedy can get a tad tirsome for older viewers towards the end.

Review of Muppet Treasure Island (Special Edition) (DVD)

Ahoy there mateys!

Advantages: Hilarious, great songs, wonderfully funny characters
Disadvantages: You have to be a Muppets fan to appreciate it

The Muppet Treasure Island is my personal favourite of all the Muppets films. Based on the Robert Louis Stevenson book, it's full of jokes, songs, and true muppet hilarity. There are a couple of human characters- young Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, and Billy Bones (Billy Connolly) at the beginning, but the rest of the crew are Muppets. Gonzo and Rizzo are Jim's loyal (if silly!) sidekicks, and accompany him on adventure. There are plenty of songs ...
...sing-along section with the words, which kids will love. As a personal connoiseur of the Muppets and all things related to them, I highly recommend this film- it's got swashbuckling adventure, a treasure-trove of fun, and some serious moments too, where Jim shows his integrity of character and wins against Long John Silver, morally.
