Advantages: enchanting, enticing and of course musically enhanced
Disadvantages: can be quite intimidating for very young children

captivating and charming throughout, a good family picture from Disney and its predecesor which in turn carries on the brilliant storyline as an out take or snippet from the original. A must have for Boys and Girls of all ages. My children watch it over and over and gain something new each time whether it be a new value or decision in how they should act towards others. Tale as old as time........

Advantages: Animation, characterisation, tale
Disadvantages: Not so much action

Beauty and the Beast is a 1991 Disney feature film animation, and is one of the better of the more modern ones of the past 20 years or so, before the collaboration with Pixar took it to a new level. The film takes us to a castle, where a Prince has been cursed to take the form of a humanoid beast until he realises the importance of beauty that lies within a person. ...music, with its title song, Beauty and the Beast, sung marvellously during the film by Angela Lansbury, one of only a couple of recognisable names lending their voices to the film, Jerry Orbach being the other. I recommend at least watching this, even if you don't particularly want to own it. Advantages: Lovely songs, great story and fun characters
Disadvantages: None

Review of Beauty And The Beast (Animated) (Collector's Edition) (Wide Screen) (DVD)

Good fun!

Advantages: Dialogue, cracking pace, excellent animation
Disadvantages: May not be suitable for children who are old enough to understand innuendo

...for adults as well and Ice Age 3 certainly delivered on that front. I've seen Ice Age2 on TV but not the first film and never in the cinema. On top of that this was a 3D show. Review of Ice Age 3 - Dawn Of The Dinosaurs (DVD)

"I thought you guys were extinct?"

Advantages: amazing picture quality, good fun for all the family!
Disadvantages: Cant think of any.

I bought my wife Ice Age 3 for Christmas. She asked for it. Can't say its my type of film, but being a loving husband I sat down and watched it with her anyway. The first thing that struck me, being a blu ray, is the amazing quality. Animated films and comic-esque outings (like the Simpsons) always take full advantage of the High Definition nature of blu ray and make a movie a pleasure for the eye to behold. Ice Age 3 is quite possibly the best example ...
...were apparently living below the ice and meeting a swash buckling weasel who helps save the day. All the while, we get to watch the fun adventures of the little chap chasing his acorn, that have been present in the past films. This time, there's a love interest!! Its quite a good watch and plenty of fun for all the family. The usual deleted scenes and such are present, I can't say I watched them though, sorry, but its not my cup-of-tea, as I said. ...
