Oliver & Company
Review of Oliver And Company (Animated) (Wide Screen) by
ntlilian34
Advantages: Very sweet heartwarming film
Disadvantages: Looks a little dated
...computer animated sharper looking extravaganzas, Oliver & Company remains one of my absolute all time favourite Disney movies.
It is a really sweet heartwarming film that follows the basis of the Dicken's tale about an orphaned kitten who is befriended by a streetwise dog who shows him how to manage life on the streets before he is adopted by a girl from a rich family and then kidnapped. The soundtrack to the film is one of the best in my opinion, ... ...she is quite lonely before Oliver comes along and wins her over. As you would expect with a Disney movie, it is a rollercoaster of emotion with sad bits and funny bits thrown in culminating in a dramatic ending where his street animal friends come to the rescue before a Disney happy ever after. I would highly recommend this film to anyone. ...

The Land Before Time DVD 1
Review of The Land Before Time DVD by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Great film, good for a cry, lovely characters & happy ending
Disadvantages: Littlefoots mother dies :'(
The Land Before Time is the ultimate Dinosaur equialent of Bambi. In that it's basic underllying theme is littlefoot becoming an orphan due to his mother being killed by a preadator. ( in this case by a 'sharp-tooth', in bambi's case, a human sports hunter ). This fantastic old skool animated film is work from Steven Spielberg, and was directed by Don Bluth, to produce a tear jerking classic film with a soundtrack composed by James Horner. Originally ... ...2006, we are graced with the DVD format, to enjoy the spacousness of a DVD cupboard. Which is great you can fit like 30 DVD's in the space of 10 VHS cases. And is the main reason, together with the purchase of a DVD player, why we've traded almost all our VHS's for the newer DVD versions.
The story tells the story of littlefoot, a baby 'longneck' dinosaur who becomes orphaned when his mother looses her life in a battle to defend her young with a ...

Chronicals of Narnia
Review of The Chronicles Of Narnia (2005 Collector's Edition) by
kerriroberts
Advantages: Family Fun
Disadvantages: Can make you too cheery
...as a christmas present and the novalty value of remembering my childhood was wonderful...but watching it was even better.
As it is a series rather then a film it fully tells the story and is more faithful to the books.
Even though it was filmed before special effects I do not think this really impacts on the quality - as it is set in war tme the age of this series adds a certain charm to it.
Not only have I enjoyed re-watching this but my my nephews ... ...real christmasy feel about it and really puts you in the festive mood.
Please remember this box set includes The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair. Which means four times the fun.
Enjoy, family fun garenteed. ...

He Won't Bite Beast Or Man
Review of Count Duckula - Vampire Vacation DVD by
Frankingsteins
Advantages: Some of the best dialogue and characters in British cartoon history.
Disadvantages: Some plots are a little weak.
...post box in Mayfair.
Count Duckula, as can be clearly deduced from the title, is at its foundation a basic parody of the Dracula premise. But with a duck. As the fantastic opening titles clearly demonstrate, the concept is a little more convoluted and silly than that; the Counts of Duckula are a long line of vampire barons in a cartoon universe populated almost entirely by human-like birds, whose reign of tyranny has hung over Transylvania for centuries, ... ...sinister vulture assistant Igor, the Count can be resurrected once a century through a macabre ritual that the feather-brained housekeeper Nanny has botched up considerably this time round, substituting tomato ketchup for the key ingredient of blood and resulting in a very different Duckula for the late twentieth century.
Thus, our Count Duckula is far removed from his predecessors, a pacifist who follows a strict vegetarian diet and who has an ...
