My favorite christmas film. Advantages: Full of christmas magic! Disadvantages: heart wrenching. No extras. This is one of my favorite films from my childhood. I have no idea how old i was when i first saw it, and it took me years to get hold of a copy on vhs (and a lot of time on ebay!), but once it was released in the uk on dvd i snapped it up. This Disney story is about Abbie grainger - a young girl whose mum has lost her christmas spirit. With the magic of the angel gideon, they help her to get it back - with some heart wrenching moments along the ... ...be a little upsetting for younger children , but also has all the magic of a great christmas film - angels, hope, belief, tradgedy and of course father xmas himself! This film hosts some well known faces - Mary Steenburgen, Gary Basaraba, and Harry Dean Stanton. The dvd itself can be watched in English, French and portugese in surround sound, Italian in Stereo, and German and Spanish in Mono. Sleeping Beauty: Immortal Classic Advantages: Moral Theme (Courage, Valiance, Love, Power of good to overcome evil destiny) Disadvantages: Too much focus on female prototypes (mother, daughter, good fairies, evil witch fairy) ...is a part of Tchaikovsky's sleeping beauty. The Knights of the Magical Light Advantages: watchable, nice anime, adventure Disadvantages: They didn't make another series ...they were, they were called Visionaries and actually they are kinda awesome. This DVD contains the one entire series that was made, I heard that only 13 episodes were ever produced, and you get them here. The visionaries world is one where the age of technology has ended and the 2nd age of magic has begun. Its a retelling of the legend of King Arthur in many respects, the central wizard character of Merklin being a cross between Mumm-RA (from Thundercats) ... ...is slightly male orientated, with only two female characters (who turn into fish! hence only use their powers around water) but the ethics model used in the show is akin to the he man after show moral guidance, lessons learnt in the show are worthy lessons indeed. Of special mention are the power staffs that the characters obtain, these contain a single massive spell, which are often used in dire need during the battles. Sadly they are addictive, ... This was only the beginning. Advantages: Lovely family film. Disadvantages: No DVD extras. ...ever popular toy range The Care Bears was given its own feature length animated movie, which was one of the first of its kind to be based on a toy line and not the other way around.
