*Walking In The Air *
Review of The Snowman DVD by
xdonzx
Advantages: Fun , Everyone will love it
Disadvantages: None!
The Snowman is an animated film directed by Dianne Jackson and released in 1982 (twenty six years ago!). The film has a very simple storyline which consists of a little boy building a snowman and the snowman coming to life. Simple yet very effective.
I first seen this film when I was about seven or eight when I borrowed the VHS from my friend. I loved it ever since. I think adults as well as children will love this film as it just instantly grabs ... ...stands out for me is the soundtrack. Sang by welsh choirboy Aled Jones , the emotional "Walking In The Air" theme tune makes you wish that you were the little boy in the movie flying through the air , hand in hand with a snowman. It makes you want to be a kid all over again. It also makes you with that you were friends with the snowman because he's so friendly ; kids will love him! I love the old fashioned look this film has. I think this is one ...

Welcome Death, Quoth the Rat, When the Trap Fell
Review of The Secret Of Nimh (Animated) by
Frankingsteins
Advantages: Rejuvenates cartoon cinema, causing Disney to back off for a while.
Disadvantages: Uneven plot, perhaps too many similarities to cartoon tradition.
...first animated feature since leaving the sleazy corporate tyranny of Disney behind, remains one of the most accomplished and critically acclaimed in the history of cartoon cinema, and easily upstages all of his company's subsequent productions despite the greater box office success of 'An American Tail' and 'The Land Before Time.' It was produced by Bluth's dedicated, overworked team over the course of thirty gruelling months from 1979 to 1982 as ... ...on their laurels and lacked the excitement and magic of the company's distant golden era. 'The Secret of NIMH' was created specifically to return to older, more intricate styles of animation while conversely continuing to push the format to greater extremes and innovations, and the result, while perhaps not a timeless masterpiece due to its position so far down the line, seems to have been unanimously praised as a success.
The film is adapted from ...

Review of The Last Unicorn DVD by

Advantages: great for kids and adults
Disadvantages: can't think of any.
...as an adult. Whoever wrote the other review about it having poor animation and what not, they have to realize it was 1982! They didn't have fancy computer animation programs then. I am not particularly a fan of today's animated kid movies, with them all being computer generated. I like the real animated movies where you really have to be a talented artist to pull it off. This movie has a great storyline and I can't wait to show it to my own children. ...

cresswell84
Advantages: Count Dukula, Biographies
Disadvantages: No programme menu selection
At 9.99 you can't lose, right?
Six episodes of the worlds greatest detective packed in with Count Dukula's first ever episode. Absolutely class.
Stories of exploding custard, stealing listening stations and killer washing machines are mixed with the humour that can only be found on "Dangermouse".
