The Snowman is an animated film directed by Dianne Jackson and released in 1982 (twenty six years ago!). The film has a very simple storyline which consists of a little boy building a snowman and the snowman coming to life. Simple yet very effective. I first seen this film when I was about seven or eight when I borrowed the VHS from my friend. I loved it ever since. ...stands out for me is the soundtrack. Sang by welsh choirboy Aled Jones , the emotional "Walking In The Air" theme tune makes you wish that you were the little boy in the movie flying through the air , hand in hand with a snowman. Disadvantages: Uneven plot, perhaps too many similarities to cartoon tradition.

...as an adult. Whoever wrote the other review about it having poor animation and what not, they have to realize it was 1982! They didn't have fancy computer animation programs then. I am not particularly a fan of today's animated kid movies, with them all being computer generated. I like the real animated movies where you really have to be a talented artist to pull it off.
