It's a vet's life!
Review of All Creatures Great And Small - Series 1 - Part 1 (Box Set) by sunmeilan

Advantages: Good, solid family entertainment
Disadvantages: Seeing animals sick or dying

...vet, predominantly because of watching All Creatures Great and Small. Those not yet in their 30s will probably not have heard of this series, which was broadcast in the early 1980s and is based on the books by James Herriot about his own life as a vet in the 1930s and 1940s. I was thrilled to get hold of the first series recently - unfortunately this show doesn't seem to have been rebroadcast recently, at least not on the main channels. The author ...
...have more acting jobs between All Creatures and Doctors, because I always thought he did a superb job in All Creatures. Watching it again now though, I thought his acting was a little wooden, at least to begin with, although his acting does improve towards the end of this series. His character is young and energetic, with a passion for his job. His boss is Siegfried Farnon, played by Robert Hardy. Hardy has had a variety of acting jobs in the past, ... Read review

not bad
Review of Matilda DVD by Andy

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...Like Dahl's other stories, Matilda is an 'almost' real tale. Every place, every person, (even every carrot) is almost, but not quite 100%, real. The characters are all played up to one extreme or another. The principal is pure mean. The teacher is pure niceness. There is no character depth, and that's what makes it wonderful. ... Read review

Worthy Third Installment
Review of High School Musical 3 - Senior Year DVD by katygriff

Advantages: Fun
Disadvantages: None

I love High School Musical and I saw the third one at the cinema last weekend now for the second time as I love it so much. It is the most fun and fantastic film and follows on from the first two very well due to its slightly more grown up feel and songs and dances. This review will hopefully tell you why this trilogy has been finished off perfectly with this fab third film. Story of this film is that it is senior year at East high school and everybody ...
...This film shows that the high school musical franchise is as strong as ever and the third installment still captures all of the Disney magic and once again leaves the audience wanting more. I have to say that this film is definitely one you should go and see if you want a couple of hours of pure fun. The film lasts for just under 2 hours which seems long but it goes by in a flash and as always with these films it is a Universal certificate. You ... Read review

The Care Bears care, do you care?
Review of Care Bears - The Movie/All Dogs Go To Heaven 2/Tom's Midnight Garden (Box Set) by marymoose99

Advantages: Only £2 per film, Care Bears are great!
Disadvantages: Not good version of Tom's Midnight Garden, No English on ADGTH

...of water and watching the Care Bears movie? I was quite surprised that hubby didn't even object to this, and actually seemed quite excited about the film! He must have been feeling delicate too. Care Bears - The Movie I used to like the Care Bears - I was never a huge fan, but had a couple of the bears, including Birthday Bear (my favourite), and used to get Care Bears films out of the video shop along with My Little Pony, and Herbie goes ...
...film, it's the first Care Bear's film, and was released in 1985, but I'm sure I must have seen it at some point. So, onto the story In the orphanage the children are ready for bed, and want a bedtime story before they go off to sleep. So, the orphanage owner Mr Cherrywood (voice over by Mickey Rooney) tells them a story…..about a time when people stopped caring. Care-a-lot is where the Care Bears live, and it's such a nice place to live, ... Read review
