Winnie the Pooh and Me Too!
Review of Winnie The Pooh - The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh (Animated) by
Shroud
Advantages: classic stories, well crafted songs, excellent remastering of picture and sound
Disadvantages: some disapprove as Shepard's drawings were not recreated for animation
...week. The many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was one of the films that would appear every now and again, and I would sit down to watch it with great delight. I was such a huge fan, that my parents bought me Winnie The Pooh print dresses from the local Sears department stores, and I would have that identical dress again and again as I grew to the next size until at last, alas, I was too old to fit in the smaller children's sizes. This film was responsible ... ...three original shorts were:
Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966) Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968) Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too! (1974) Based upon the works of A.A. Milne, they were nonetheless Disneyfied versions of the stories and characters, so not completely faithful to the books. The film opens with a book being read by a narrator, and the pictures come alive as he reads. Winnie the Pooh and the Hunny Tree focuses on Pooh Bear ...

I Wish I Had A Dragon
Review of Pete's Dragon (Live Action / Animated) by
Shroud
Advantages: well written and preformed tale , quality song score
Disadvantages: widescreen aspect lost to square TV rendering aspect
In 1977, I was six years old a local cinema always ran children's matinees once a month where parents dropped off us kids, who were watched over by ushers, and left us to enjoy the magic show and the movie. This is one of the first films I got to see during one of these events, and while it was a box office failure at the time, I was smitten with the film. I must not have been the only one, as when it appeared not too long after on the TV as part ... ...up, it was a hot topic on the playground. Now, most of the kids I knew had not seen it at the cinema as I had; there was a recession on and cinema tickets and such were simply non essentials. These kids' parents were struggling to make ends meet, so just those of us who had parents with some disposable income could afford the odd treat like this. No matter, see it most everyone I knew did, whether at the cinema or on the TV, and we all loved it. ...

Marshmallows? No they're just fluffy balls!
Review of The Complete Flumps DVD by
belfin
Advantages: classic kids entertainment at it's best
Disadvantages: includes all the episodes so goes on a bit
I know many of the you out there may not remember this kids show that I remember watching as a small child on Sunday mornings around about the time that Bagpuss was on. Like Bagpuss there were only 13 episodes made but it seemed like many more than that back then. Repeats didn't seem to matter so much as they were only on once a week and children's tv wasn't available so much as it is now. We were lucky to have a couple of hours a day and so I think ... ...hats or bows depending on the character. They had small movable arms and legs and waddled a bit when they walked.
The Background
The series made in 1976 was created by Julie Holder as well as writing it. It was produced by David Yates using the stop motion technique which is a long painstaking process which means moving each character slightly and taking a shot before moving them slightly again. This same process is used a lot by Aardman Animations ...

Worthy Third Installment
Review of High School Musical 3 - Senior Year DVD by
katygriff
Advantages: Fun
Disadvantages: None
I love High School Musical and I saw the third one at the cinema last weekend now for the second time as I love it so much. It is the most fun and fantastic film and follows on from the first two very well due to its slightly more grown up feel and songs and dances. This review will hopefully tell you why this trilogy has been finished off perfectly with this fab third film.
Story of this film is that it is senior year at East high school and everybody ... ...This film shows that the high school musical franchise is as strong as ever and the third installment still captures all of the Disney magic and once again leaves the audience wanting more. I have to say that this film is definitely one you should go and see if you want a couple of hours of pure fun.
The film lasts for just under 2 hours which seems long but it goes by in a flash and as always with these films it is a Universal certificate. You ...
