just a saggy old cloth cat....but Emily loved him.
Advantages: classic childrens tv Disadvantages: none
...have fond memories of watching Bagpuss as a kid - especially because at beginning of each episode the narrator says "and Emily loved him" (mainly because I used to think it was about me!!)
The Complete Bagpuss available on DVD contains all 13 episodes ever made (not nearly enough in my opinion) The episodes are:
Ship in a bottle (my personal fav)
The owls of Athens
The frog Princess
The ballet shoe
The Hamish
The Wise Man
The elephant
The ... ...the DVD is the classic Bagpuss Pink and white stripes.
The insert contains a listing of all the episodes. The total running time is just over three hours and you can pick which episode you would like to watch from the menu at the start of the DVD.
This is a must for any Bagpuss fans out their and good quality entertainment for any child. DVD is of course rated U - Suitable for all. I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to enjoy it and appreciate ...

Tomorrows People, Today.
Advantages: Enjoyable Kids Sci-Fi Disadvantages: A bit dated
The Tomorrow People - Series 2
I remembered the earlier shows, probably from 1973 when it first aired through to 1979 when it initially ended. Watching it again on DVD was very, very enjoyable and to be honest quite refreshing. It was at the time an imaginative program and held a 70's quaintness.
Remembered nothing of the second incarnation of the show, 1992 - 1995 and again nothing of the third reinvented show from ... ...change from normal humans to the next stage in human evolution. They have abilities such as, telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation.
They have adventures inventing new technologies and fighting evil villains on this planet and from other galaxies.
There are a few surprises along the way.

Kris Kringle Is Not Crackers
Advantages: original version is cleaned up and presented in original black and white Disadvantages: remake suffers greatly when presented with the original for comparison
...as Kris is released. The miracle has not happened yet though, for that is a miracle of the heart. No, that happens on the way home, as a young Susan sees the house of her dreams on the route Kris has told them to take to avoid traffic. A house, with a cane like Kris' leaned against the chimney and a wedding proposal from Fred to one now thawed hearted Doris. Aww... Starring Maureen O' Hara as Doris, John Payne (Fred Gailey), Edmund Gwenn (Kris Kringle), ... ...is indeed a star studded affair. Natalie Wood's childhood portrayal is precociously good, with no playing for the camera or simpering and makes this a fun film to watch. Maureen O'Hara does quite well with what could have been a difficult role to play. Doris Walker is a complicated character; she is caring, yet cynical and a bit hard, yet with a centre still a bit marshmallowy if you can get past the slightly crunchy exterior. She manages to pull ...

MULAN - *you dont meet a girl like that every dynasty*-by emperor
Advantages: funny, great for whole family to watch Disadvantages: i really cannot think of any
MULAN
This movie is one of my all time favourites i love it. In my opinion it is funny and what makes it funny is the characters in the film you have mulan, the little dragon, the slightly crazy grandma, the soldiers and the 'lucky' cricket all of whom make this film a joy to watch.
I believe that this is a great film with a great story line to it. The basic story line is that Mulan who is basically a tomboy who is deemed unmarriable. There ... ...man from every family must go to help fight which means Mulans father who can hardly walk after the last war has to go as there is no son .Mulan takes his place disguising herself as a man. A little dragon is sent by Mulans ancestors to bring her home but he decides to help her instead and make her a war hero. Along with her horse, cricket and dragon she risks everything to save china. I think this film is great for the whole family to watch together ...

Good fun!
Advantages: Dialogue, cracking pace, excellent animation Disadvantages: May not be suitable for children who are old enough to understand innuendo
...for adults as well and Ice Age 3 certainly delivered on that front. I've seen Ice Age2 on TV but not the first film and never in the cinema. On top of that this was a 3D show. The story essentially follows Manny, the mammoth, his heavily pregnant wife, Ellie and Diego, the sabre toothed tiger as they venture under the ice to a land where dinosaurs are not extinct. They do this to try and rescue Sid, who feeling unloved due to the impending arrival ... ...subsequently been carried off with his 'children' by their real mother. In dinosaur world they meet Buck, the weasel with the Sylvester Stallone eyepatch and knife, the British accent (Simon Pegg voices him) and the literary connections to Captain Ahab of Moby Dick (both have been left injured by 'the great white beast', both are unnaturally obsessed and slightly unhinged by it). As a sideline, Scratt is still seeking his acorn but this time there ...
