The Little Car Takes First...And Third Place!!!
Advantages: Classic, Hilarious, and Crowd Pleasing Disney Classic Disadvantages: Why couldn't all three actors be together for the commentary?
...lot of gloop written about the bond between a man and his automobile on how he hates it sometimes but mostly how he loves it. He showers gifts on it in the way of accessories and all that. He gets hysterical if someone scratches the paint or makes it lose face on the freeway. Maybe some of those feelings got into the machinery, I don't know. There is something real about that little car, something that doesn't even have a name. What I don't understand ... ...--- Jim Douglas

THE STORY ABOUT A CAR WITH A MIND OF ITS OWN
**********************************************************************
I'm telling you all right now, for a potentially silly Disney comedy filled with hilarious moments, these words that Jim Douglas (played by Dean Jones) says near the end of the film have a lot of poignancy to them; this is mainly because they ...

Take That, Red Baron!
Advantages: family film sitable for all, well written, fantastic musical score Disadvantages: None
...Peanuts first began as a syndicated daily and Sunday newspaper cartoon that ran in US newspapers from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000 (which happens to be the day after it's creator's death). Written by Charles M. Schultz, the strip featured a group of children in a suburban neighbourhood whose lives at home and at school provided humour as well as social commentary on modern life and current events. Its relevance and sense of humour resonated ... ...and published in 75 countries. A rough estimation of its readership puts peak readership figures at about 355 million people. The series centred on an everyman type character, a little boy named Charlie Brown, aged 8. Nothing he ever does turns out quite as he intended, and the other children tend to be dismissive of him. So much so that everyone always calls him by his full name, never just Charlie. He has a beagle named Snoopy, who is rather eccentric ...

No animals were harmed in the making of this film?
Advantages: Some good otter antics Disadvantages: Slow, Boring, Some animal scenes that probably wouldn't be allowed now
...to be persuaded to watch Ring of Bright Water as a child and slowly giving in with the promise that there was a loveable otter in it, but very soon being disappointed with the slow pace and the 60s humour…
However, watching this charming film more recently has shown it in a whole new light to me. From the strange concept of the 60s pet shop that sees it as no strange thing to sell an otter as a pet through to some very odd narrating, this is indeed ... ...As children's film
Ring of Bright Water was definitely made as a children's film as the majority of the action is taken up by the pleasantly-named Mij the otter frolicking around in Scotland. Sometimes this is taken to extremes as whole 10 minute sections are devoted to Mij's scampering around a puddle or on his owner, punctuated only by some mildly amused adults watching him. Quite often a long scene like this in one location is followed ...
