The Sword In The Stone
Review of The Sword In The Stone DVD by
ivytoad
Advantages: Great family movie with good songs!
Disadvantages: A slightly slow start
This really is one of the Disney Classics. I love how magical this movie is.
It tells the story of a young boy who is treated like a servant becomes to believe in himself with the help of the wizard Merlin and his owl, Archimedes, and ultimately becomes the King of England.
The story goes that who ever is able to pull the sword from the stone, will become King of England. The sword was set fast in the stone and people came from far and wide to ... ...this, despite everyone believing that the only person able to do this would have to be big and strong.
Has some great songs in it, very disney! and it has some really amusing moments. I especially like the bit where Merlin and Arthur turn in to squirrels and some lady squirrels fall in love with them and start chasing them around.
The extra footage on the dvd is really good. There is a Sing-A-Long sections with songs from the movie, and even a ...

Review of The Sword In The Stone (Animated) by
borneo2007
Advantages: Family film with all the features of a classis
Disadvantages: None - it's Disney!
**What was the film based on?**
Based on the book by T. H. White, Bill Peet created a classic film, one which cleverly gives the reader the best of both worlds; a legend and Disney Classic. This film was made in 1963, brought out on video in the 1990s, and has recently been transferred to DVD. This change has drastically improved the sound and picture quality, and also allows the reader access to extra features.
**What can I expect when watching ... ...is full of the magic, humour, songs and excitement that we have come to expect and love about Disney. We are kept enthralled by its fast-moving pace, colourful and musical characters and the struggle of good against bad.
In true medieval style, a minstrel's song tells us of the predicament at the very beginning; the good king died without an heir, and, when war seemed imminent, suddenly a miracle occurred. The Sword in the stone. It came with the ...

Worthy Third Installment
Review of High School Musical 3 - Senior Year DVD by
katygriff
Advantages: Fun
Disadvantages: None
I love High School Musical and I saw the third one at the cinema last weekend now for the second time as I love it so much. It is the most fun and fantastic film and follows on from the first two very well due to its slightly more grown up feel and songs and dances. This review will hopefully tell you why this trilogy has been finished off perfectly with this fab third film.
Story of this film is that it is senior year at East high school and everybody ... ...This film shows that the high school musical franchise is as strong as ever and the third installment still captures all of the Disney magic and once again leaves the audience wanting more. I have to say that this film is definitely one you should go and see if you want a couple of hours of pure fun.
The film lasts for just under 2 hours which seems long but it goes by in a flash and as always with these films it is a Universal certificate. You ...
