A bit scary for a PG
Review of The Spiderwick Chronicles DVD by Treacle1983

Advantages: Characters, plot, special effects, magic
Disadvantages: bit scary for younger children

...and my favourite film is The labrynth!! The story is based around a family who are forced to move into a house once owned by their mysterious great uncle only to uncover the amazing truth of the world in which they live. Protected only by a magic circle around their Spiderwick house our young family members must uncover the truth of their uncle's life work and over come evil that lurks closer than anyone would think. The young actors are great but ...
...fan of Weeds). The tempo is high and the style is similar to that of Harry Potter in terms of the music, camera effects and even some of the creatures, Although aimed at children there is plenty that will appeal to adults. The film although PG is probably unsuitable for little kids of under about 8 as it does have a quite violent moment and is actually a bit scary. ... Read review

Great family movie
Review of Finding Nemo DVD by Cosmo_Kramer

Advantages: Very accessible, heartwarming
Disadvantages: none

Finding Nemo is a great Disney family movie. Finding Nemo is about a young clown fish (Nemo) who due to an under water current, is pulled away and seperated from his father in the Australian sea. He is then picked up by a local dentist, to keep in his fish tank. The movie concerns itself with Nemo's father (Marlin) and his crazy friend (Dorey, voiced by Ellen DeGeneress)'s quest to find Nemo, which takes them on a journey through the wierd and ...
...turtle by the name of Crush and into a family of fish in the dentist's fish tank which features an over excited Puffer Fish and a nervous Baby Squid. Like Disney/Pixar's other movies, Nemo is all about telling a simple family story which doesn't baby itself on the audience be it adults or kids and it has enough cutesy characters to keep the adults interested. Keep an eye out for Willem Dafoe as a battle scarred fish by the name of Gill. ... Read review

A great modern adaptation of the Greek myth
Review of Hercules (Animated) by Poa05ht

Advantages: Great songs, good character development.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of...

A consistently underrated Disney film, Hercules contains all the traditional disney magic with the twist of a Gospel-feeling soundtrack. Based on the Greek myth Hercules is a film about the son of Zeus (King of the Gods) - a boy that due to Hedes and his evil henchmen's work is rendered mortal. Because Hercules is made mortal by Hedes he can no longer stay on Mount Olympus with his father and is raised on Earth by foster parents. However, he still ... Read review

Hook is one of my favorite childrens film as it takes a unique spin on the story of peter pan.It tells the story about a grown up peterpan who has forgotten who he is,he now has two children he is beggining to neglect as he is so busy making himself a sucess but he has to attend a party at wendys house(who is know a old lady) and memorys strart creeping back.Hook is getting onto and he misses the fun and fights with Peter so he kidnapps his children ...
...he is in time to save his children and put a end to hook. What makes this film fabulous is not only the story but the fabulous Robin Williams who is such a fabulous actor,he warms your heart in this film and along with the children makes a fantastic performance. He seems to have as much fun making this movie as the kids do which definatley comes across in the movie, its recomended for all ages and will keep both you and the kids busy for a few hours ... Copy of Madagascar
Review of The Wild DVD by pokemonguy

Advantages: Different Characters to Madagascar
Disadvantages: Most of it

The Wild is just a copy of Madagascar. They call it "The Wild" and in Madagscar the place they go to is aka "The Wild" so it looks like that they just got there on the same mode of transport but they swapped the main characters around. When watching it for the first time instantly I thought "They need better soundtrack." It was like they were just copying someone elses movie just for the money. Anyway, there's a lion cub called Ryan who wants to ... Read review
