Review of The Little Mermaid I & II (Box Set) by
ovetta2001
Advantages: Classic, Ariel, Mermaids!!!!
Disadvantages: Some extras a let down
...time was…and still is *giggle* The Little Mermaid (1989). Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be Ariel and now at twenty you would think I would have grown out of it…but as you're reading this you soooo know better :). I have, not that I should admit it, all of the Disney movies on VHS (Yes. Every. Single.One.) and was extremely upset when I realised I would be forced to buy them all again due to the DVD. So when it was released…with not ... ...(originally…) The Little Mermaid 2 - Return to the sea, I was extremely excited…

Star Wars Clone Wars Animated Series Vol.1
Review of Star Wars - Clone Wars Vol.1 DVD by
Itstar77
Advantages: Great character design. Interesting Stories
Disadvantages: A bit short.
...and thirds episodes of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. There is a lot to enjoy here. I love the animation style used here which is very stylised and full of energy. The series is produced by Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator of Samurai Jack, and the look and design of Clone Wars owes a lot to that series. All the main characters from the Prequels return in animated form along with a few new characters such ... ...a lot more like the Star Wars of old - fun, action and adventure. This may just be that we find the kind of story the Prequels tell more acceptable in animated form. Or, without wanting to get too Star Wars fanboy about it, it could be the fact that it is Tartakovsky not George Lucas who had most control over the series. In any case the series was very successful and spawned a second series of longer episodes and the stories with continue in a Clone ...

Dino-riffic
Review of Dinosaur (Animated) (Wide Screen) by
Shroud
Advantages: awe inspiring animation sequences, good storyline, great characters, some good bonus features
Disadvantages: bit scary for smaller or more sensitive children
...a picture of any dinosaur shown in the film, and find out facts about them. All sorts of interesting little nuggets for the dinosaur fan, with loads of background information on the Cretaceous period (during which the story is set).
The film is rated PG for mild threats and violence. I have to tell you, parts of this film are a bit on the scary side, and my five year old and seven year old hid their eyes in terror during some scenes. The ultra realism ... ...on scene its very tense and more than a bit on the scary side. Likewise, watching the sky burn could be upsetting to younger viewers. I'm not saying the film is unsuitable for young children, but if your child is under the age of 8 or 9, I would watch this with them the first couple of times, and if your child is under the age of five, maybe wait a bit longer and opt for the much gentler Land Before Time instead.
As I mentioned, I got this DVD greatly ...
