BLISTERING BARNACLES! All Tintin's adventures?!
Advantages: All the gripping Tintin cartoons in one smashing box Disadvantages: The theme tune will get stuck in your head
...books written and illustrated by the famous Belgian 'Herge'. These delightful stories are about a young reporter called Tintin and his faithful dog / sidekick Snowy. Tintin and snowy alway appear to get themselves into all sorts of sticky (and dangerous) situations with mobsters, the mafia and other such criminal ruffians. Highly entertaining stuff, with a few highly entertaining friends thrown in for good measure. Friends of Tintin that feature ... ...the memorable Captain Haddock (who is a little slow witted sometimes, and says a range of colourful, yet suitable for young ears, expletives).
This is an absolute MUST for all Tin tin fans. This most excellent box set contains the cartoon series in its entirity, that is over 14 hours! It's presented in a set of 10 DVDs all in slimline cases with a Tintin biography booklet bound in a charming outer case. The outer case is made of sturdy cardboard ...

JOE 90
Advantages: GREAT FOR KIDS Disadvantages: NOTHING
Joe 90
This really took me back, Joe 90 the kid super spy with amazing powers and those 'Michael Caine' glasses. Included here are all 30 episodes. Puppetry at its best. Professor Ian McClaine has invented a brain enhancer. It takes the form of a chair which the operative sits in and then he has whatever special information imprinted onto his brain. This information aids him in completing his secret missions. Joe is used because he is a kid ... ...James Bond. Joe would done his glasses and be off on his latest mission. He had all the state of the art spy devices and always completed his missions for the W.I.N. organisation, one way or another. Made from 1968 and 1969 by Gerry Anderson, who by now was on a role and could do no wrong, Joe 90 was another huge success. This was a super series to watch as a kid and as many programmes of the time completely inoffensive to all children. Highly recommended. ...

The Muppet Show. The Opening number
Advantages: interesting to see how the show developed, the pilot episode Disadvantages: not the best series for a casual fan to buy, Muppet morsels can be annotying, no listing of episodes
...about my favourite TV show The Muppets again. Disney (unfortunately) have bought out my beloved fuzzy puppets and to make their money's worth they have started to release box sets of the Muppet seasons. My old video box set ;s quality was starting to deteriorate due to overuse so I thought I would treat myself to Season One of the Muppet Show on DVFD when I saw it in the Amazon sale or a fantastic £17.99. The box set contains four DVDs and a whopping ... ...the Muppet Show ran for 24 episodes and was first shown in 1976 and 1977.
The Muppet Show was a take on the variety shows that used to be on TV such as Sunday Night at the Palladium.. It was made up of different songs and sketches performed by acts such as the Electric Mayhem Band, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear. These were held together by the capable flippers of Kermit the Frog. I am not usually one for going into detail about the packaging but there ...

Powerangers SPD Vol1-5 (Box Set ) DVD
Advantages: Better Value Disadvantages: None
This is much better than previous ones. It offers a better value and my 4 year old enjoys it. It has very moderate action and is suitable for kids.
My child enjoys it and would recommend this as a good buy.
Different episodes totaly five.
The special effects are outstanding and even a 36 year old like me was watching it with my son and was actually rivetted to the screen. I think at about £19.99 it is a good value 5 box set DVD, has excellent ... ...or smudge the discs.
The characters are really funny and interesting and so is the plot of the story.
What I do like about it is that there is hardly any swearing which is quite important considering it does have moderate violence.
But that is expected from any in this genre and it is popular with kids!
The Special effects are really excellent and would say it is worth a look. ...

Hartley - Just The Hare I Wanted!
Advantages: Great nostalgia, excellent extras, well thought out DVD, the adorable Hartley! Disadvantages: Only that it's taken so long to be released!
INTRODUCTION Pipkins reminds me of childhood lunchtimes in my old house. It was one of my favourite TV programmes and I loved it. Decades later, my most vivid memories are of Hartley Hare, Octavia the Ostrich and the 'It's ……. TIME….' With its visual display of ticking clocks. Nostalgia indeed. But some 25 to 30 years later, how would the real thing - not seen since childhood - hold up to my treasured memories? I had to find out. So I pre-ordered ... ...A BRIEF SUMMARY
Pipkins began on ITV in 1973 - when I was four - and finished in 1981, to be replaced by Let's Pretend. The first two series of Inigo Pipkin (as it was called) featured an elderly actor who died, which led the series to a change of name to Pipkins and a change of presenter (obviously!). Wayne Laryea took over and he is the first presenter I remember and the one I associate with the series. Other presenters followed, but the characters ...
