Who couldn't sing its praises
Review of Fallen DVD by arcadionseyes

Advantages: suitably chilling, well scripted, well executed, superb acting from everyone involved - as soon as I can, I intend to make this a part of my video collection
Disadvantages: ending is slightly spoiled by the opening scene, also the ending is in a similar vein to Se7en i.e. heart wrenching, which some people might not like

...to hell. This particular fallen is Arazael(I think) who apparently couldn't get into Milano, and therefore became obsessed with him, framing him for several murders...and apparently pushing himself to suicide. Hobbes is like Milano, he shook hands with Arazael yet failed to be possessed by him. Soon, more murders occur, and more clues appear, including certain pieces of evidence that implicate Hobbes. History repeating? Certainly looks like it. ...
...you every little detail about this movie, but it's so well done, it's so intriguing, that I think you should go and find out what happens next for yourself. Other stars who appear include Keiffer Sutherland, who I am not normally a fan of, but he is exceedingly suited to his role as police chief(I think that's what he is anyway) and also an appearance by Mr. Tony Soprano himself, sporting an exceedingly disturbing handle bar mustache is worth looking ... Time is on my side...yes it is
Review of Fallen DVD by Deenie

Advantages: Unique story, good actors, different ending!
Disadvantages: Excellent film, but not a 'classic'.

I first heard about this film a couple of years ago, when we bought a satellite and one channel was showing the trailers for it every hour or so. It was then shown every single day for about two weeks, hence I got to see it plenty of times! The film was released back in 1998, and stars Denzel Washington as the main character (John Hobbes). You'll also recognise John Goodman (Jonesy) and Donald Sutherland (Lieutenant Stanton) who also play major roles ...
...little bit about it, incase you haven't seen it yet. The film begins with homicide detective John Hobbes (Denzel) having caught and convicted a crazy murderer, who is sentenced to death in the gas chamber. He meets with the prisoner before he is gassed in a weird scene. You then see the execution, and how John Hobbes is happy that the case is now finally closed. However, his happiness is short lived as copycat murders start taking place in the same ... Read review

Review of Fallen DVD by Jimmi5bellies

Advantages: Brilliant...a must see
Disadvantages: gets compared to sixth sense.

...I really enjoyed this film, the story line was very easy to follow. It was full of exciting scenarios but most of all, months later you can still hear the serial killer singing his song, "TIME........TIME AFTER TIME". I think the ending leaves an option for a Fallen 2 !! ... Read review

time is on my side...
Review of Fallen DVD by JD8701

Advantages: dramatic thriller, full of suspense
Disadvantages: a little too far fetched at times

...as azazel comes from the fallen angels who have been cast out of heaven and seek revenge by possessing human souls. It is a great twist of fate, espeically as having being possessed by the spirit you sing the Rolling Stones song "Time is on my side..." (a certain sense of irony as the ending shows). The storyline seems quite far fetched but it is portrayed excellently,. There is just one glitch where it does seem a bit OTT but it's only a minor ... Read review

Advantages: Clever Idea
Disadvantages: Which is Wasted

...cop fighting against an evil fallen angel who can take over anyone's body) is used to good effect, particularly in the scenes where Washington attempts to confront Azazel in his various guises, with occasional tragic effect. Unfortunately, however, the dialogue is, as mentioned, a little on the patchy side and the addition of an ill-judged voice-over by Washington does nothing for the pace of the film. Add in Embeth Davidtz dry as dust, "Name of ...

Anywhere But Home
Review of Evanescence - Anywhere But Home (+CD) by  shin4

Advantages: An excellent first DVD release by the band
Disadvantages: Some fans may prefer recorded versions of the songs than the live ones

...This is the CD/DVD release of the Fallen Tour, released in November 22, 2004. There are 13 live songs with the addition of a studio recorded unreleased song from the Fallen album as one of the many bonus materials. Every song on the Fallen album is sung in this DVD live with additions of Korn Cover Thoughtless, and the Fallen B-Sides: Breathe No More (Live), Farther Away (Live) and Missing (Bonus Studio recording). To date, the live album has sold more than 1 million worldwide, with the addition of a CD format of the live event. The first song performed is "Haunted". A song that is eerie and very mystical to listen to with its funky guitars and mixed eerie vocals of Amy Lee. This live version has an addition of an eerie introduction, made of loose guitars and then drums. The second song is "Going Under." It is of a story... Read review

"...A stylish and expertly paced blend of autumnal atmosphere and compelling characterisation..." (Sight and Sound, p.46, 01/03/1998)
