INTRODUCTION

If you've never seen this animated series, then you're either smart or missing out [I can't make up my mind lol]. Personally, I enjoy watching it and my son likes it, so as any good mother would, I spend the odd half an hour with my offspring, glued to the box as a complete load of cartoon tosh seeps through our brains!
You can catch a fair few episodes on Nickolodeon [digital/satellite kid's channel], and if you want to watch more you can purchase this DVD containing all the episodes from seies one, which will introduce you to all the most common characters as well as the main ones.

CHARACTERS

TIMMY TURNER: Timmy is a ten year old boy who gets a rough deal in life. His parents are completely oblivious to his needs [and very odd too lol] and he is tormented by his teenage babysitter Vicky, who brings nastiness to new heights! He has an enormous crush on the most popular girl at school [who thinks he's a zero] and he also has to contend with the ugliest bully in town. Fortunately [or maybe not] he also has two fairy god parents, who are basically magical creatures who grant his every wish, provided it doesn't clash with anything written in their big book of 'Da Rules'.
Timmy is small, has buck teeth and wears a big pink cap, but is quite a lovable character whom you really can't help feeling sorry for.
His wishes rarely turn out to benefit him, and usually land him in more trouble than he started with, but he never seems to lose hope, and draws inspiration from his favourite comic-book hero, the Crimson Chin, who has an enormous...well...chin!
PERSONALLY: Poor Timmy Turner lol! I can't help liking this character as he has a very hard time of it, regardless of the fact that he can wish for almost anything he wants. His ideas aren't the brightest and you just know it will all end in tears somewhere along the line. He's an optimistic chap though, and at least you get the impression that his fairy god parents love him, if no-one else.

COSMO AND WANDA: They are Timmy's fairy god parents. They are married, and Cosmo is green whilst Wanda is pink lol! They originate from fairy World, where all magical god parents live and are assigned from child to child, leaving once the kid has grown up and/or has become happy. They must follow certain rules pertaining to wishes and are regularly assessed by the leader of all fairies, Jorgen Von Strangle, who's character may well be based on Arnold Schwarzenneger lol.
They usually live in a fish bowl, and pose as Timmy's pet fish, and they tend to clash a lot [as some married couples do] mainly because Cosmo is a bit on the thick side.
PERSONALLY: Cosmo is so stupid, he's funny [how old am I?]. Wanda almost always seems to have misgivings about Timmy's wishes, but has to grant them anyway, and Cosmo is completely clueless and manages to get on his wife's nerves, without worrying too much about the fact that she'll go mad at him lol! I like these two as they make a good comedy pair.

MUM AND DAD: Dad is another one who's a sandwich short of a pic-nic and mum isn't too many slices behind. They ignore Timmy and put themselves first most of the time, although they speak to their son in sugary over-enthusiastic voices that grate lol!
They really don't see what's going on at all, and you get the impression that Timmy might be speaking a foreign language to them, as that's how they treat him.
PERSONALLY: They are stupid and useless, but that's one of the reasons Timmy has his godparents. He isn't happy. Awwww...mean parents!!!

VICKY: The sadistic babysitter from Hell! She makes Timmy do all her chores and is dreadful to him. She wants him to be miserable and gets upset if she thinks he isn't. She loves money and will use and abuse anyone to get her stash of cash. Nice...
PERSONALLY: Whoever created this character probably had some bad childhood experiences lol. She gets her comeuppance every now and again, but is still as cruel as ever in the next episode! She's scary...

MR CROCKER: Timmy's teacher and obsessed with fairy god parents. He had them himself as a boy, but lost them because he told someone about them [a big no-no as you lose your magical wish-granters - ouch!] and tries to prove their existence at every opportunity. He is very weird and goes a little crazy when he says the words: 'fairy god parents'. Seems to be a very bad twitch lol. Another character who isn't very nice to our Timmy.
PERSONALLY: Drawn as an ugly, mean idiot, who obviously has no life, and resents most of it. He likes to give Timmy bad marks at school and takes pleasure in seeing him sad. I don't like him. He needs erasing lol.

PERSONAL NOTE: All the episodes from series one are entertaining and funny. You'll find that the stupidity can be quite comical, although you may wonder why you're actually watching these animated trogs lol. I think there are supposed to be messages in this cartoon. Perhaps it's a question of be careful what you wish for, or runaway if your parents are THIS dumb. Whatever the reason this series was created, I think it's fun and your kids will probably love it. It's a bit of harmeless entertainment on a rainy day, when your ironing is piling up and you need a distractor lol.
The charcters are drawn in a simple way, with no over-elaboration, and every time wishes are granted you get 'batman' style words appearing lol.
It's from th U.S of A, so be prepared for stereotypical characters, and the all American super hero called the Crimson Chin is just about as odd as you'll ever meet. He's worth looking out for as he's completely round the bend lol.
No special or complicated animations here, just a basic, crazy cartoon, set to amuse and boggle the mind from time to time. I recommend it with a full thumbs up!

SPECIAL FEATURES:
None I'm afraid.

IN CONCLUSION

You may love it or hate it, or just think it's nonsense, but whatever you may feel, I bet your kids will like it. If you're anything like me [a child at heart] then you may even admit to enjoying this lol.
I give it 9/10 overall and have seen it from £4 upwards on the net. It's cheap n' cheerful entertainment.
