DVD Description
A group of students find themselves in danger in the South American jungle. A drug baron wants revenge for the arrest of his son by the DEA and the girls are to be used as leverage to aid his safe return.
Advantages: A Good Insight into the Survivors Battle Disadvantages: Very sad if you only focus on the event and not the rescue mission
...World Trade Centre, as it says on the DVD cover, is definitely a true story of courage and survival. I saw this in my local Asda and thought it would be interesting to watch. It did not disappoint me.
THE FILM
The film is based on the tragic events of the September 11th disaster in America where the World Trade Centres were flown into by 2 planes and ultimately collapsed. The start of the film shows a police team heading into the first tower to help with the evacuation of the workers who were trapped at the top. As they are getting supplies the first tower starts to collapse and they try to dive into an elevator shaft for safety. The team is trapped and only one of them is able to move and as he starts to try to free the others the rest of the tower falls down and he then is also trapped. He is hurt so badly that he shoots himself...

Advantages: great acting from all involved special effects Disadvantages: didnt focus on how the attacks affected NY and sleepy in parts
...This DVD tells the story of the 9-11 attacks that shocked the world when 2 planes flew into the World Center Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington. This film focuses on the attacks in New York and the focus is on a team of police officers who risked their lives by going into the towers trying to rescue all the innocent people. When the team of police officers are in the building after getting equipment to help them with their search the building collapses and they get trapped. After the police officers get trapped the film focuses on the officers and then back to their families who are anxiously awaiting news about their brave loved ones. The film is directed by Oliver Stone and stars Oscar winner Nicholas Cage as Sergent John McLoughlin and Michael Pena as Will Jemeno.
Everyone can remember exactly what they were doing...

Advantages: It leaves out the graphic attacks Disadvantages: The story is drawn out
...fairly quickly and it fails to capture any depth of the emotion that was felt that day by the people of New York as well as the people who witnessed the attacks from around the world. Ladder 29 was a far more interesting story, and all the better for the fact that it didn't have the documents of history to fall back on.
The extra's on the DVD are a pretty insightful collection, with a making of documentary, some pretty basic deleted scenes that add nothing to an already overlong film, a brilliant commentary from Oliver Stone, as well as some dialogue from real life survivors and some of the rescue team. In fact the DVD extra's are probably more worthwhile than the film itself....
