The ordeal of super-heroic, singularly dedicated FBI agent Sean Archer (John Travolta – BLOW OUT, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER) is only beginning after finally capturing his arch nemesis,...
more...Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage – WILD AT HEART, NATIONAL TREASURE), an elusive, maniacal terrorist who claimed the life of Archer's son. While Troy languishes in a coma, Archer surgically 'borrows' Troy's face in an attempt to gather evidence about Troy's last bomb--which is currently ticking away in a Los Angeles office building. Trouble ensues when Troy wakes up faceless, borrows Archer's visage, and makes a mess of Archer's life; all the while, both men struggle to adapt to their new identities while struggling to blow each other away.

Another balletic, thematically complex action smorgasbord from Hong Kong action director John Woo (HARD BOILED, THE KILLER), FACE/OFF is the perfect showcase for the acting talents of Travolta and Cage, each spending most of the film perfectly imitating the other. The pair are also ably supported by Joan Allen (THE CONTENDER, THE ICE STORM), Allesandro Nivola (I WANT YOU, GOAL!) and Gina Gershon (BOUND, SHOWGIRLS).

John Travolta plays an Government Agent called Sean Archer that is trying to find biological weapons placed in L.A by a criminal called Caster Troy (Nicholas Cage). Caster Troy once tracked down Sean Archer and tried to kill him but ended up killing his son instead, so Archer is consumed with revenge. When Archer manages to get Caster troy, Caster Troy tells Archer that he has planted a bomb that will go off unless he lets him go, Archer thinks that Troy is bluffing and they have a fight which leaves Troy in a coma. Later on they discover that Troy was telling the truth and Archer needs to find out where this bomb is and the only way is by Caster Troy's Brother Pollux. A Goverment Official tells Archer that he thinks that he should have an operation were Archer's face is swapped with Troys, and he has on operation which is a success. Archer then needs to go into the prison were Troy's brother Pollux is held so that he can talk to him to find out were this bomb is. Meanwhile Troy who is believed to be in a coma wakes up and finds that he then has to have Archers face. Troy then try's living the life of Archer and everyone believes him including his family and co-workers. Troy takes his brother out of the prison and Archer is stuck there, the goverment officials are killed off and all documents are destroyed. Archer some how manages to escape and tracks down Troy theres a big fight and Troy ends up being killed,Archer saves the day and gets his face back.

Ok so this may sound a bit confusing but honestly its not. Its a great film which everyone should love and there is plenty of great scenes.John Travolta and Nicholas Cage are great in it because they have to play two characters which are completly different and they play them so well.
I Like this film because theres nothing else like it, it has a great storyline and the action scenes are good. I think its deffinatly a film that you can watch over and over again, its one of my fave films and I would definatly reccommend it to anyone.
