Full review
It was hard for me to find time for this review … The truth is that a lot has been going on in my life but the main reason was that I had to write a review for my favourite movie of all times. Needless to say this movie changed my life and I am not joking.

I started seeing life from different points of view, my stress levels went down and I try to face new problems with an open mind and a carefree spirit. Is life really that complicated? My opinion is yes, it certainly is. Will we find balance with other people if we don’t have inner balance? If there was ever a movie created with the power to change people’s lives then its name would be:

Le Fabuleux Destin D’Amelie Poulain
Aka Amelie
Aka The fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulain.

~~~~~Who is Amelie~~~~~:
Amelie is everyone and anybody. It could be you, me, the person standing opposite you. Amelie is a girl as normal as different and peculiar; as we all are. She lives in a nice warm apartment, works in a cafeteria in her neighbourhood and as any other girl at her age, she dates various people. An only child who grew up mainly with her father, after her mom died, who never really showed her any form of physical love like cuddling or hugging.
But Amelie finds joy and happiness into life’s simpler things; throwing stones in rivers, looking at other people’s faces/reactions in the cinema instead of the actual film showing. Some people would find that odd, boring, crazy or even convenient! Amelie hasn’t found happiness in life either, she is looking for the meaning of life and a true love … the things we all want to discover the most!
~~~~~Plot~~~~~:

When you see movies like “Sliding doors” and “Amelie” (this is definitely not a comparison! lol) you realise that our lives can change from the smallest thing. This is what happens to Amelie… She is in her small apartment, watching the news when suddenly she hears that princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris. She drops an item which rolls on the floor until it hits an old tile of the bathroom floor and Amelie discovers a small treasure…
It is not money … it is not gold … it is a small boy’s toys. The toys look very old and priceless when it comes to sentimental value. Amelie decides to find the owner of the little box.

After a long and sometimes interesting and funny search she finds the man. Yet, she is not after any reward; she leaves the little box in a phone booth and calls as Monsieur Bretodeau passes by it.

Amelie realises that in order to find happiness she must get closer to people and give them some of the love she carries inside and never really shared with anyone. So she starts doing her small little “miracles” to make people around her happy and fulfil them with joy. And all Amelie needs a pinch of love … she needs to be loved just a little bit… and then she will give everything three times back.

Her dad who is trapped in his past and in his house, a failed writer who visits the café, the elderly neighbour who has been painting the same Renoir painting over and over again for years and many other people surrounding her will have one thing in common no matter how different they all are: love and support from Amelie who secretly makes changes to help them change their lives and give them hope and happiness.

~~~~~And then!!!... ~~~~~:
Love knocks on Amelie’s door… and Amelie will be challenged to face life, herself and the true meaning of love and sacrifice.
She meets Nino Quincampoix under the strangest circumstances in tube stations. And the hunting begins … although we never know who is really the hunted and who is the hunter … they both seem to be victims of their own lives… trying desperately to escape through peculiar habits and by trying to help their fellow humans.
~~~~~The film~~~~~:

This is a romantic comedy that escapes the typical Hollywood tin products and the stereotyped scenarios by far!

The movie in general is very detailed. A sweet and tender film that doesn’t need special fx neither luxurious settings in order to charm and carry the spectator in magical emotions.

The director Jean-Pierre Jeunet "unearths" the magic recipe and gives us a film one of a kind that gets produced only once a decade; the diversity of each person, the life and the simple and daily enjoyments floods us.

He combined absurd humour, imagination, originality but above all realism. The film is a dream, but her most beautiful part of that is that all this happen could happen in real life easily.

~~~~~Characters – Acting~~~~~:
S U P E R B ! ! ! !
The characters, incarnated from charismatic actors, are extremely realistic and simple people that could very well be our own neighbours. With regard to the protagonist, the way which her thoughts and feelings appear is amazing, full of imagination and humour. The sweetness of Audrey Tautou and the familiar character makes the identification with the movie and her world easy and real. Finally, the fast alternations of pictures, the colours and the excellent music you will make him fall in love!
Do not miss this movie if you haven’t seen it, even if you think you don’t like romantic movies. Discover the sweet face of Audrey Tautou, be left in the sweet caress of love, each scene will blow you away.
You will love the details… you will love Amelie writing backwards on the glass…You will love the charming moments and the sorrows of life-love!
And when you leave from the cinema I am sure that you will feel that through those 2 hours "something" changed in you … that you became a better person...
