place in FSX. For the last year Aerosoft has been working on a high detail model of this aircraft and this summer will see the Fighting Falcon fly into the virtual world of FSX. The F-16 Fighting Falcon was designed as an air superiority fighter for the NATO countries and was expected to be in service for 15 years. Three decades later it is still the mainstay for the majority of NATO forces and has been kept up to date with several mid life upgrades. From all fighters build after the Second World War the F-16 has been the most successful, not only in build numbers, but also in combat. Although it has seen extensive action in nearly any war theatre in the last 20 years it has yet to be beaten in combat. In FSX the F-16 is a joy to fly, with the controllability of a light aircraft and capable of altitudes of 50.000 feet and speeds exceeding Mach1. It is extremely agile yet easy to control (it will fly where you point the nose) it allows you to explore the environment of FSX like never before. "I couldn't be fonder of you if you were my own son. But, well, if you lose a son, it's possible to get another. There's only one Maltese Falcon."
I wouldn't say I'm the world's greatest fan of Film Noir or even of Humphrey Bogart. I like them, but other genres are higher on my list. When I first watched this, although I had heard of Humphrey Bogart, I had no idea what he looked like. I hadn't seen terribly many black and white films either. One fine day, some years ago, my mom got Turner Classic Movies. I can't remember why I turned it over onto TCM or even if it just happened to be on when I came into the room, but it was about halfway through ?The Maltese Falcon? and I started watching it and when I got to the end, I realised I needed to see it from the beginning as it was that good. And when I watched it again from the beginning ...
Advantages: An excellent film, a joy to watch Disadvantages: Should be shown at a decent time on TV
I was lucky enough this Christmas to receive "The Maltese Falcon" on DVD as a present from my loving girlfriend. She knows my thoughts about this classic film and decided it was time that I had a copy of my own. I am a very lucky boy.
"The Maltese Falcon" is adapted from the novel by Dashiell Hammett, which I must admit I've never read but it's considered to be a classic. The film begins in the detective agency of Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) and Miles Archer (Jerome Cowan). A mysterious woman calling herself Miss Wonderly (Mary Astor), and looking like a classic femme fatal, enlists the help of the detectives to track a man called Thursby. However, on the first night of this task Miles Archer is murdered by a party or parties unknown and an hour or so later Thursby is also killed.
Sam Spade then takes it upon himself to ...
Advantages: great story with many comical encounters Disadvantages: not really for younger kids
at the chance when Johnny Naples, a 'vertically-challenged' man, walks into his office asking for help in what Herbert sees as a simple case of guarding a very important package containing something rather unusual indeed? only things go slightly wrong when Johnny is shot dead and Herbert is the only suspect?after being found holding the gun as stood over Johnny's body and is promptly arrested by his old superior Chief Inspector Snape and his rather vicious assistant Boyle? but with lack of evidence the brothers are released, giving them a chance to prove Herberts innocence.
Only finding the real killer isn't as easy as they hoped as they stumble upon a rather clever international diamond smuggling ring ran by a man nicknamed Falcon, but unfortunately the Falcon is dead and his many so called friends and allies, including his Dutch wife, his two ...
