years. After dominating in the first half Bremner and Giles orchestrating some fine attacking moves the goal came shortly after the re-start. Clarke arrowed a superb diving header past Barnett in the Arsenal goal and scored probably the most famous goal in Leeds United's history. It was the goal that sealed Leeds United's claim on a trophy that had eluded them for so ... more
many years. The campaign had seen United defeat Bristol Rovers, Liverpool, Cardiff and Spurs before outclassing second division Birmingham at Hillsborough in the semi-final. The game began frantically. Arsenal's full back McNab became the first player to be booked in a Wembley final, before United orchestrated some fine attacking moves. With Bremner and Giles controlling the midfield, Clarke remained a constant threat up-front and rattled the cross-bar with a firm header. The goal came shortly after the restart when man-of-the-match Clarke arrowed a superb diving header past Barnett in the Arsenal net. It is probably the most famous goal in Leeds United's illustrious history, and signalled a Leeds onslaught.A succession of sweeping, attacking moves had Arsenal pinned back, but the second goal proved elusive. Arsenal had chances, Harvey saved well from McLintock and George struck the bar - but these proved only to be isolated incidents in a game that United controlled. Wembley was awash in a sea of White and Billy Bremner became the first Leeds United captain to raise the FA cup above his head. The wait was over... and now see it all over again!!
Advantages: Fantastic Game Of Football Disadvantages: Well Can't Think Of Anything Unless Manchester United Lossing!
Fantastic game of football and was finally won by Arsenal on penalties for the first time in FaCup history after the match ended 0-0 after extra time and a match that was totally dominated by Manchester United.
Jens Lehmann the Arsenal & Germany goalkeeper was the hero after he saved Paul Scholes crucial pentaly.
Manchester United were in total control of the match dominating most of the match but could'nt beat Jens Lehmann who was in fantastic form for Asenal he saved somehow from Paul Scholes and then pulled the double of him by saving his penalty.
Van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Roy Keane all scored from the spot kick but they could'nt stop any of Arsenal's penalties as Lauren, Ljungberg, Robin Van Persie and Ashley Cole all scored from the spot kick for Arsenal before Patrick Viera scored the deciding ...
Advantages: Seeing Spurs beat Arsenal Disadvantages: Not enough features on the DVD
After Tottenham's embarrassing lose yesterday to their rivals Arsenal in the traditional North London derby by three goals to nil, I felt it was time to dive into the DVD collection and cheer myself up. I stumbled across this classic game and it really did the job!.
The DVD itself was purchased around six months on Amazon for £4.99 and the price has not changed. It is a decent price for a DVD, but the lack of features could change this opinion for some people. There were also a few items on eBay of this item so definitely shop around when looking to buy it.
The game itself is an enthralling one. It was the first ever FACup semi-final to be held at Wembley, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Tottenham went onto to win the Cup that year, and by knocking Arsenal out in the semi's made sure that the Gunners could not achieve ...
Advantages: only for man utd fans Disadvantages: as a football fan its worth missing
well i guess this is a must for all those man utd fans out there.regardless of the fact i follow liverpool i think 99% of the fans from both sides will agree this was one of the most boring cupfinals ever.yes of course the man utd contingent can bask in the glory of yet another win over liverpool but when all said and done it was dismal at best.i remember watching this on tv all those years ago and i think i actually said "thank god" when cantona scored a late winner.the thought of extra time had me wondering whether to get out a pot of paint, douse the walls and watch it dry.i so very nearly did.so please,if your just a basic football fan and you want to add to your collection then i would recommend 100 other titles but not this one.oh and to all the man utd fans that own this dvd i would watch the whole 90 minutes again and tell me ...
