Review of The Eye of The Needle, a novel by Ken Follett
---The Book---
The Eye of the Needle is the best selling novel from the pen of author Ken Follett. The novel was written in 1977 and became an international best seller. Ken Follett had written other novels, but The Eye of The Needle was his first major success.
I am reviewing the paperback edition of the book, ISBN 78-0330354295. Cover price £7.99.
The cover depicts the rear view of a man watching a remote house, silhouetted against a stormy sky. The cover is enigmatic and mysterious, that in conjunction with the jacket blurb and knowledge of another novel by the author, is what encouraged me to buy the novel.
---The Plot---
The Eye of The Needle is a gripping crime mystery, set during the second world war. The storyline takes us through the exploits ...
Advantages: Great location and great views! Disadvantages: Coach loads of schoolkids!
For our first full day on the Isle of Wight, we decided to do a lap of the Island to see what was out there and to basically have a look around as well. We had a few leaflets that we took with us from the Premier Travel Inn to ensure that we knew where we were heading and what we would see. The one thing that my other half and I did agree on was that we should definitely visit The Needles Park.
This place has one big selling point; it is located at the furthest point on the West side of the Isle of Wight at Alum Bay. This not only gives spectacular views of the Needles and the Lighthouse but also some picturesque views of the Dorset coast as far away as Swanage. So if you are a photographer you will have some great opportunities to take some good shots as well as spend the day walking the area, something that I will touch upon later ...
Advantages: great story and acting Disadvantages: None
I have wanted to watch this film, ever since I saw a trailer of it on the television. So my husband and me decided to watch it. Most reviews of this film have been negative so far, but this one is more positive.

The film is a remake of the Hong Kong film "Jian Gui", Sydney who had become blind in child hood, through a bad accident; already having one failed eye transplant is going for another one. The eyes this time work, her eye patches are removed and she can see, although her images are all blurred and out of focus.
Sydney starts to see things, that she is not sure if they are real or not. She starts to go see Dr. Paul Faulkner, who is to help her to get her vision back properly. She tells him about the visions she keeps having of people who have died or that are about to die. Well he thought her ...

The outcome of World War II is dependant upon one man's ability to stop an important German agent from reporting to Hitler. Popular suspense thriller based on a novel by Ken Follett.
In Richard Marquand's WWII-era thriller, Faber (Donald Sutherland), a German spy washes up on a small island off the Scottish coast and is taken in by Lucy, (Kate Nelligan), the frustrated wife of a paraplegic (Christopher Cazenove). Her desire for intimacy is immediately apparent to the equally lonely spy, who quickly seduces the wife and begins to plot his escape from the island so that he can report back to Germany with news about the impending D-Day invasion. Will Lucy figure out who Faber is and stop him from successfully completing his mission
