Advantages: A great way to introduce young children to a foreign language Disadvantages: There is no written language at all on screen
...This is an animated DVD that is aimed at giving very young children an introduction to the French language. It is an enjoyable way of teaching, and parents can sit and relax with their children whilst watching. They can learn about families, daily routine, as well as a few extra topics that are brought in such as animals. Children are likely to find it fun and ask to watch again and again, which will allow them to absorb French words and phrases naturally, without even trying. Three is said to be the optimum age for language learning, and this DVD would give children a wonderful start towards more formal language study at a later stage in their education. The theory behind the DVD games themselves is easy - just use the navigation buttons on the remote to go forward, back, select answers and categories etc., so that wasn't too much of a challenge for us.
But some of the questions were, shall we say, a little tricky.
I must say that whilst you get a lot of variety in the topics, for example...
