Advantages: Matthew Modine, very funny and charming. Gene Davis on track as kick-bottom female
Disadvantages: no muppets

...At first i thought this film was going to be like 'the Goonies'( weird, yeah i know). I had seen Matthew Modine in previous films and thought him charming and funny. The storyline is good, a few iffy sections but nonetheless extremely watchable. Now, what every film needs is a good bad guy and this certainly has one of the nastiest. If you imagine the lowliest dog (a 'mad dog', if you will) then you've got the villain. The only problem for me was that this film had no muppets. I would have liked to have seen this film combined with Muppet Treasure Island - What a show-stopper! Seriously though this film is well worth watching, an unlikely match though it may seem with Davis and Modine, they have chemistry and the characters are sassy. Advantages: A brilliant mix of tragedy, romance and adventure.
Disadvantages: Some boring Quiet parts.

...The Beach starring Leonardo Dicaprio is an excellent story about an American tourist who finds a map which leads to a secret Island with a beautiful beach with white sand and clear sea. He then teams up with a French couple to travel to this island. When they arrive they find a field full Marajuwana which is being farmed by a group of men with guns. After they sneak past the dealers the next thing they have to do is jump over a waterfall which is where they are spotted by inhabitants and lead to the village. They are then offered to stay on the island or leave and let the island be a secret. After they choose to stay they learn the way of the people and live in happiness for a while until some more people land on the island. It is now the Americans mission to get them to leave the island or face a gruesome death. Unfortunately... Read review

Advantages: A good mixture of wit, storyline & good acting

The Plot William Shaw (Modine) is Morgan Adams (Davis) slave, they are on a quest to recover three pieces of map to an Island with hidden treasure. Morgans fathers dying wishes were to give her his pirate ship & a third of the map although it's very unusual as it's actually been inscribed on her fathers scalp. The map is in latin which is the reason for Morgan to employ Shaw as he's able to read Latin. But of course William Shaw (Modine) being the cunning pirate manages to get hold of the second piece of map, so as he can get hold of the treasure for himself but then eventually falls for Morgan Adams (Davis).Unknown to them at the time...
