PLOT ________________________________
Reagan, a twelve-year-old girl and daughter of a successful actress becomes possessed by the devil after playing with a Ouija board. Father Merrin is asked to perform an exorcism, assisted by Father Karras. There are complications and Father Karras must overcome his dwindling faith in order to save the girl
SPECIAL FEATURES ________________________________
-Eleven minutes extra footage -Director's commentary -Trailers -4 TV spots -2 Radio spots
The commentary is very boring on this film, with Willian Friedkin giving no infomation about how the film was made. It's nice that they've extended it and the 'spider walk' sequence is pretty cool.
PACKAGING ______________________________
Warner Brothers' card box with black plastic clip. That great image on the front and some cool pics on the back along with synopsis, list of extras and credit block. Scene list inside with a couple of great images.
COMMENTS ______________________________
The Exorcist is one of the classic horror films, one which should be part of every buff's collection. Orgininally released in 1973, this film shocked audiences and made many people physically sick. These days, though, it's regarded as one of the best films ever made. I'd have to agree.
This version is digitally remastered (both sound and picture) and contains eleven minutes of previously unseen footage such as extra brain scanning and the freaky 'spider walk' down the stairs. Other special features include four TV spots, two radio spots and trailers.
A downside to this set, however, is the fact that the director's (William Friedkin) commentary is pretty dull, not giving much exciting information. I'd like to hear more about production- special effects and what not.
Over all, though, this is a great film to own and the DVD version will make you want to burn your entire VHS collection. Buy it, buy it now!!

I'm too much of a coward to have ever watched this film! I agree with Trampus, what you have written is great, but is a bit too short for people to give higher ratings.
