Anyone would have thought that X-Files star David Duchovny would have had enough of aliens and spaceships but his new film focuses on just that!
Evolution sees Duchovny play a mad professor, Ira Kane, obsessed with government cover-ups and alien encounters. Sound familiar?
A meteorite lands in Arizona, from which alien-like organisms start to grow. Before long a ramshackle team of scientists are called in to try and get to the root of the problem. In steps Duchovny, Julianne Moore and Orlando Jones as the madcap professors with gunge guns at the ready, all three pulling off great performances. Although for me the star of the film was the hilariously funny Seann William Scott!
With an almost Men In Black tone about it, the film is light-hearted and funny, with great alien creatures.
Hailing from the creator of the Ghostbusters, the film promises some funny moments and is suspiciously similar to the 1984 smash hit.
All in all this film made me laugh, although it may not suit the tastes of all people it is suitable for family viewing.
